SA: Motor is sitting on steering rack

So I the tech talks to me about it: and he's saying the pan could start to leak since it's rubbing against the "stiffening plate". I attached some pictures to show what he's referring to.

What do you guys think based on this picture?

I think they want to do the work. But what I would do is different than what you would do. My car has not been to a dealer or shop since 2012.

I drove mine for a while like this maybe 2200 milesish... did a few track days with it too... only realized how shagged the motor mounts were when I could feel the window wiper motors run through the clutch pedal, never really drove the car in the rain.
