Rod Bearing shop near MN, new M3 owner

Just purchased my first M3 last week, a 2008 e90 6MT with 47k miles, and of course the first thing I'd like to do is swap the rod bearings out for some BE's. I had been searching for an e90 M3 since mid-2018, and I'm super stoked now that I own one, but I also feel incredibly anxious about the bearings. I've received a few quotes, ranging from $3200-$11,000 ($11,000 was from BMW in Minnetonka claiming they needed to remove the pistons and connecting rods), and I'm waiting on a few other quotes, but I'd like to not spend more than $2500. I've seen some reputable shops on here offering the service for $1750 and $1950. Does anyone know of a shop near the Minneapolis area that does rod bearings for a reasonable price?

Try EuroTech in New Brighton or Orr Autosport in Eden Prairie. Orr likely to be more expensive than EuroTech. If either says they don't do it, ask for a reference. Both are shops are knowledgable and reputable and should be able to make a recommendation.

I emailed both of them last week, and Imola. Orr quoted me at $3200 parts and oil included, still waiting to hear back from the other 2. I'd prefer Orr, but not sure I can afford it

FWIW, in my vetting, most have recommended Orr to me since they have done several of them. Similar quote that did include motor mount replacement as well. I am planning to do it when I get to about 50k miles.

Not many shops near MPLS to do the rod bearings. My E90 is at 52k and looking on doing it soon too. Looks like Orr has the best price. Eurotech quoted my buddy for $5k.

Orr will be doing mine in a couple of weeks, I'll post up the results when it's done. It seems mine will be the first time they're doing BE bearings and BE-ARP bolt combo. I don't think you're going to find a better price without going pretty far out of the state and at that point, you won't be saving much. I already tried that route driving down to Dallas and it didn't work out, which makes it even worse. Not to mention if you have a car issue hundreds of miles away from home, it'll get expensive very quickly.

We have done probably 15-20 of these Rob bearing jobs over the last few years on S65 and S85 cars.

I am not sure where your friend got a 5K quote because NO job has been that much. I love misinformation being posted all over the net

That said Orr is also a great shop and does good work, we have a great relationship

For gold rod bearings? What other work are you including in quote?
