Riss Racing Axle Back Dyno #'s

Hey guys, well as I've been dynoing just about everything we can get for these cars, I finally was rewarded with some great gains!

Before Dyno: Car made 346 RWHP 252 RWTQ

After Dyno: Car made just over 360 RWHP and 260 RWTQ!

It was nice to see a bolt on set of Mufflers add 14 RWHP & 8 RWTQ.

You can also see the TQ below 3,000 RPMS is considerably more... and is what is most noticeable driving away from the stoplight.

When I added these mufflers, I'd find myself 'forgetting' to put the car right into M mode... because it felt so strong & responsive down low!

I've now sent my ECU to PowerChip, to get their Flash Tune, and will try to get back to the Dyno to post those gains in the next week or so.

The Riss Racing Mufflers do have some drone noticeable inside the car. In speaking with some others... we've discussed the possibility, if DynaMat in the trunk would help to reduce it as well?

The sound outside the car is amazing, and the Dyno Gains are very impressive.

Peace,
Dave

Wow, very nice gains for just an axle-back . Are you back to running stock x-pipe now?

No, to keep the before & after consistent I left the RPI Off-Road on... since that was the 346 'Before' Dyno'.

I now have the Riss Racing Catted X-Pipe... which I'm going to assume flows the same or better... I really like their X design.

Peace,
Dave

Is the drone as bad as it's made out to be with your current x-pipe set-up?

Not really, no... but there definitely is drone. My buddy who rode with me, after the install, thought it sounded perfect... But I could see if one was say '45' (??) family, strict wife... it could still come across as a bit more inside the car.

Again, though... I was coming from the RPI Off-Road Pipes... and while they were PERFECT w/ stock Mufflers.. they were WAY TO LOUD with the Riss Mufflers!

Thanks for posting the Dynos.

Did the RPI's have any cats/resonators? Or was it a straight through design?

Can you use the Bluetooth OK with it on?

I'm seriously considering this but don't plan on adding any X-pipe.

Hi Aus, the RPI's had no cats and no resonators, just straight through.

Bluetooth was difficult w/ the RPI Off Road System.

Bluetoothe is much better w/ the HFC X-Pipe. I'd imagine if you're going to keep your front section stock, it would be really good.

Peace,
Dave

I agree about the Riss guys. They are being responsive to our concerns and are trying to make this right. But this may very well be the best aftermarket exhaust from outside the car I've ever heard. I've had six people in the past 4 days stop and ask what type of exhaust it is. If they can fix the resonance issue, it's a slam dunk.

I agree w/ the resonance issue but it does sound great. Very nice to hear of the positive power gains. Their x-pipe is very well made.

Is the resonance only with the HFC/X-pipe + axle back Riss unit?

Dave, thanks for all the response.

Hmmm...I'm running resonators with my HFC's...I wonder how much that would reduce the drone? I'm tempted to try this exhaust because it's priced right, and obviously puts down the power .

so you were running an xpipe with the stock muffler....is that right?
If thats the case, then the stock muffler was the bottleneck in the system, so when you put on the free flow muffs your gains shown were the mufflers + the unrealized gains of the xpipe, not just the axle back itself.
