KW V3 Coilovers

I know the height is fully adjustable, so I'm wondering compared to stock how low will the coilovers make the car at its highest setting?

Can I retain stock ride height during the winter, then drop in down for the summer?

You have a lot of adjustment, and should be able to make it higher than stock if you wish.

Maybe the V3 are different from the V2 in height adjustability, but when I put the V2's on my 335I, even at max height settings, it was lower than stock.

Ok I just found this on bimmer performance stores website.

"KW suspensions announces their Variant 3 stainless steel constructed coil-over for the 2008 BMW M3. The KW coilover suspension for the 2008 BMW M3 enables the owner to lower their vehicle 10-40mm on the front axle and 5-35mm on the rear axle and retains enough travel to handle maximum load and dynamic loads during driving."

So at its highest setting it will only be .39" lower in front and .19" lower in the rear, and at its lowest it drops the front 1.57" and the rear 1.37" and I guess anywhere in between.

Can someone confirm these specs?

When my guy installed my V3s, I asked him to maintain stock height, for starters. When I picked the car up, the front end was WAY higher than stock (confirmed by measuring another stock M3).
So, yes, it is possible to have at least the front end higher than stock height.

Only problem with adjusting it repeatedly, is that it is recommended to have an alignment done with each adjustment - not the most convenient, but recommended.

Spot on, anytime the suspension is change (coilovers) an alignment is recommended.

What if a only small adjustment 1/4 in or 5mm? Still need to realign, etc. I would like to push up the rear a little due to slight rubbing.

I guess it's all about how anal retentive you wish to be. If I adjust coilovers even a small bit, I myself would like the reassurance that everything is definitely within specs.

I am definitely no expert, however. Just my thoughts - I would re-align, but I am a little OCD that way,

Any adjustment to suspension height via springs/shocks needs an alignment for full potential handling. Changes in height via new wheels/tires, an alignment is not needed.

I know that kw gives you their specs for optimum handling. My question is if you go beyond those specs (ie. go lower than what they spec says is optimal) and something goes wrong like a shock blows, will kws warranty cover the damage?

I believe if you jus get the standard V3's it's a lifetime warranty but you do have to pay for the labor to take out the shock.

I can't give you a definitive answer, but logically, yes. Their system is designed to work "flawlessly" together, so logically, if something goes wrong, they should cover it.
