It would really help the skeptics that they showed this performing with a real person driving instead of it being rendered... but I would agree with you it is interesting

i'd be a little skeptical for $1k. i'd be more interested after a long time review from an experienced track driver.

Seems like it's a pretty simple princple hopefully wrapped up with a more consumer friendly user experience than some of the typical tools that are out there. $1K doesn't seem like that big of a premium given how much guys are willing to drop on other tools for data logging, camera mounts, etc.

That is true and a good deal if it has some of the features of those other tools. Still sketchy the whole video is just computer rendered because what is the difference between this and the advice instructors give you in DE's? It will really say a lot if they gave it to Matt Farah or even Randy Pobst or Andy Pilgrim for a racer's take (heh) on its level of advice. Its also well been proven reaching out to the forums and instructors/pros that you have contact with for advice is very well effective.

If it can help Ross Bentley shave 1s off his laptime, I think that's enough endorsement for me.

As somebody who's been in design/product development for a while - keep in mind this product just came out which means they probably started doing the go-to-market work in the last 6 months.

Getting film crews out to a real race track during COVID is a lot more prohibitive when people don't want to get on airplanes, not to mention their revenue was down 10% in Q2 so I'm sure somebody saying "Hey I can have an off shore design firm render this for $5K" was the best option they could come up with.
