The Schirmer XX31 car is now owned by Robert Mitchell of Apex Núrburg, and allegedly is the 6:59 BTG car, though two identical M3s wore the XX31 licence plate. Misha works for Apex.

I've met Misha a couple of times and appeared in his vlog, briefly, as has my car, but not on a lap.
I really enjoy Misha's videos. you have some really nicely set up M3's there.

VIR with Chin Trackdays

Here's my personal best lap around the full course of VIR. I don't have any aero yet since this is my daily driver. I swap out my zcps for my Advan GTs wrapped in Bridgestone RE71s. Once this set is done I'll get a set of Hoosier's mounted. I'm curious to see what this will do to my lap times since I've never run slicks before.

Yes, maybe you’re right but tenths of second and euphoria of leading the line never lets you think about this

I was so slow on Friday. Even woke up late and missed first coolest session. Three month hiatus and rusty. Dammit.

But the video came out cool.

BMW CCA Racing school

Last week I attended the BMW CCA Racing School at VIR, sponsored by Bimmerworld. For those of you who are interested in racing, or just want to be a better driver, I highly recommend this school. It is a 2 day program with equal class time and track time with great instructors. We shared the track during a testing day and a day of club racing. The first day covered passing and getting comfortable being close with other cars. We did passing exercises and ran the entire track 3 wide. It was strange being the middle car but was good to become comfortable in this position. Day 2 covered practice starts and restarts and the final exercise was a simulated race. James Clay even participated. Here's some video:

Video from LRP with NASA. I had a faster session of laps but we forgot to re-install the SIM car, but these were the 2nd and 3rd fastest laps.

Fastest lap from Watkins Glen with SCDA.

VIR FULL NASA TT3 in 1:59.33

August 2018 , hot weather
VIR FULL with NASA MA
E92 M3 DCT
3570lbs (with driver)
Hoosier A7
Other details see my track build report
The car in front of me is another E46 M3 driver (like ThunderMoose), those cars weigh ~3100lbs (of course less Hp to get to TT3 specs).
Great competition in TT3!
But one can clearly see where I struggle to get my heavy bitch around the corner....

There's still time left on the table...

US Majors Tour SCCA, Touring 1 Class (T1) Thompson CT. July 2018. Finished 3rd. Stock motor, 5 speed, 4:10 diff, Hoosier R7's. Handling was way off as you can see from my hands. The Stang is a TA4 car that dropped down to do a Majors tour to qualify for the runoffs. The Black Mustang is also a TA4 car and also dropped down to T1 for the same reason. On to the E90M3 build as this car is sold. Fast forward to 4:30 for the start.

Spent yesterday at Summit Point on Shenandoah Circuit. First on this course in dry weather. Last two times it rained on me.

Garage List
Streets of Willow Springs

Changed from stock EDC coilovers to AST 5300 and SPL arms, dropped from 1:31 to 1:28 at Streets of Willow Springs
https://vimeo.com/336770027

Video is HD 1080 can play full screen. That is an E36 I reel in over a lap, NASA ST5 class.
Not a big deal for an E92, but the fact that I haven't lightened the car at all, have all options, adjustable heated seats, Harmon Kardon 13 speaker stereo etc. and still faster than a gutted M3 from a few generations ago.
Streets is a tight technical track, the difference would be much greater at a fast track like Big Willow.
