I think the e90 front with the aero kit looks meaner than the front pictured, the kidney grills look too small. I do like the quad exhaust, looks great and brings a good look to the rear along with the mesh

I will be totally bummin if a CF roof is not at least an option. I'd guess it won't be, given that the M5 has a metal roof and M6 has CF.

I'll bet the sedan will weigh at least 100 lbs more than the coupe, and maybe 150 more, due to the extra doors and sunroof on metal roof. Ugh, the sedan is my (practical) dream car!

The colour is MELBOURNE red.
And the reason the E90 M3 mule doesn't have a carbon fibre roof is not because of the sunroof. It's because it NEVER will have a carbon fibre roof. The 'M' sedans will not be built with a carbon fibre roof. So M5, M3.
The carbon fibre roof will only be fitted to the coupe M models, so E92 M3, M6 and the forthcoming M1/M2.
The fact that the afforementioned picture has a sunroof is inconsequential.

you know what your absolutely right on all counts...

I meant to say melborne not fox...& I left out the sedan portion...

FWIW: I believe it was SCOTT26 who said all future M "coupes" will have CF roofs & all sedans will have the conventional roof...

I stand corrected on stupid mistakes that I for one shouldn't have made since I've been here for a while & check in daily even if I don't post up much....

That kinda ruins it for me, maybe they'll release Imola Red later, or I'll just have to go with Alpine White...

Question, is the M6 red this Melborne Red too? If so, I'd say Imola is probably gone for good...

=(

Edit: Nevermind, thats Indianapolis Red Metallic on the M6

Man... this car is so nice! What I am thinking about is the fact that this E90 M3 has the front of the E92... I like the square look of the normal E90... But at least they will all look similar now. I guess it is just the "new" 2008 face.

^ yep, face-lift car, just as my `03 looks different from the 1999 model...

I just hope they do something different with the taillights, hopefully they'll stripe them like mine are, again, as compared to the 1999 non-face-lift cars...

In AUTOCAR which is a uk publication it states that the CF roof is standard on all M3 variants, however you can have a sunroof without the CF as a no cost option.

I know all about Autocar, I'm British. I also know they often get things completely wrong.

The CF roof is standard on the E92 M3, and yes, you can have a sunroof as a no cost option but it will replace the carbon fibre roof with a metal one.

Now for the E90 M3, BMW have gone on record as saying that in the future, all M variants which are coupes will have carbon fibre roofs as standard, but the 4 door variants will not.

So my point was that the reason the E90 mule in this thread doesn't have a carbon fibre roof, is not specifically because it has a sunroof, but the fact that the E90 will NEVER have a carbon fibre roof, sunroof or not.

if you're right then its a shame as the CF roof would be very appealing on a saloon M3.

It also means the E90 M3 will probably be a bit cheaper than the E92 M3.
