LMAO if you love the exhaust note so much why cover it up with the loud sound track?
I find the Akra setup to be ideal for my purposes. If you are a smart shopper you can get deal. I rarely (never) pay full price to be the first guy on the block with the newest stuff. After selling the SS catback system that came with my M3 the full EVO system with carbon fiber tips only cost me $3000. Below is a list of benefits in order of importance to me. 1. Drops 52 lbs 2. 25.6 more Torque 3. 22.2 more HP 4. No Drone 5. Craftsmanship and Quality 6. Love the sound but that was the least important purchasing decision for me. Everyone has different taste but to imply that the Akra system is not worth it seems ludicrous. What other exhaust offers so much and comes with such great quality of manufacture? The welds look like art and it seems a shame to hang it under the car out of sight. |

25lb-ft of torque and 22hp? Maybe if you have a tune and other mods...

Like I stated on line 1 of the benefits list dropping 52 lbs off the M3 was big for me. The M3 is by no means a light weight car, some might call her a pig. |

No drone?! Really?
I had the Evo on and the windows of my neighbours were shuddering 15 yards away. I couldn't stand feeling every bone in my skull at every startup after 3 months. Sold, gone and not missed.

Without mods mind you. Generic ads: "Power increases are realized from as low as 2,500 rpm all the way to redline. Peak power increases by 22 horsepower and peak torque increases by 35 Nm/26 lbs-ft. The majority of these gains occur between 3,000 and 6,500 rpm. This is a substantial increase over a very wide rpm range, and so it increases responsiveness during all phases of driving" |

You guys bringing this thread back from the dead lol. Test pipes with OEM mod will always be the best sound for the money. That's what I have an I always get compliments. Wish it was a lighter setup but whatever exhaust systems for these cars are silly expensive for quality.

I've got an Akra Evo incoming and I'll be the first to admit, I'm not wild on the sound. The M Perf sounds better to me - however, for what I want, it's ideal:
1. Lightweight - VERY lightweight 2. Build Quality - Incredible 3. Looks - Looks great, the dual cans and tips are works of art 4. High Flow Cats - still passes Emissions tests in the UK 5. One of the few system that passes the strictest of UK track noise circuits. Buy second hand, there's plenty about - and you'll always get your money back. |
