3m tape removal from carbon rear spoiler
i've tried a variety of adhesive removers, but this crap just gets slimey and slippery... i don't want to muscle the carbon spoiler too much and distort it or cause stress marks.
so far i've used tar remover, goo gone gel, goof off, and wd-40. has anyone used acetone? i want to say my detailer told me a while back he uses acetone on modern paints and its ok. i have been patient so far and i don't want to damage the spoiler.

try 3m adhesive remover. do the old hair blower with floss technique then the 3m to remove the old glue. call up eric and envious detailing i'm sure he's done this before and has a proper solution. |

i got the spoiler off in about ten seconds with some floss and adhesive remover. its the small gummy residue that is left behind that seems to be extra stubborn.

When I was removing it from my trunk lip it just took a lot of goo-be-gone, patience, and scraping but it all eventually came off. I let the goo-be-gone soak for a few minutes and used a microfiber towel.

+1 for the 3M adhesive remover.
I used this stuff to remove the tape residue from the OEM spoiler. Works like a charm without any damage to the paint or finish. |
