Yeah, Schmidt's isn't bad. There was a better German place a ways south of Chicago that we stopped at once and I was amazed at how close to real living-in-Germany-good it was. But then, of course, they closed down. :-(

My all time favorite German meal is Wiener Schnitzel and pommes frites with lemon to squeeze on the schnitzel. Add in a good beer and I'm in heaven.

^^Nice Hummer!

I went to take out some recycling tonight and found this little guy behind my blue bin. Very close to a rattler, but the round eyes give it away as a baby gopher snake. I let him be, as I want him to eat as many of the critters in my yard as he can! I would have been fine letting a rattler go as well, but would not have gotten as close with the camera!

This was Saturday. Sunday and today we had constant snow and it's supposed to get down in the 20s tonight. Hope he survives. This is the fourth year that I've seen him defending his territory from the same perch.

We had super clear atmospherics the other night before the winds changed, and are now bringing 100+ temps to the whole area. Dave we would gladly trade your snow for our drought conditions!
