Passenger side comfort access not working

Driver side is fine, passenger side doesn't work anymore, both lock and unlock. Tried to search but can't find a DIY fix, anyone has experience fixing it?

Same thing happened to me but with the drivers side not working. Ended up having to replace the door handle.

So mine goes nuts sometimes.

If I close the passenger door, sometimes it autolocks the car. Sometimes the passenger door does not sense or open the door when my hand is there.

Additionally, sometimes if I am near the rear passenger side I hear something in the trunk area clicking, like a lock attempt. Idk what it is.

I have found that if I wax my car and put wax on/around the raised lines that are used to sense a lock that it causes issues too. So I wipe down and get rid of any wax I use and the issues all went away.

If you just leave your car dirty, then your issues do not match mine.

non working comfort access handle drains the battery (at least in my case)
i would recommend to disconnect it until you solve an issue

It's an easy DIY. It's actually one screw, and one electrical plug. I got lucky that deansbimmer had a matching Mineral White handle. Maybe he has one to match your car. I'm happy to walk you through the DIY or you can find a generic one on YouTube. There is one thing to make sure of. DO NOT REMOVE THE LIGHT BELOW THE LOCKING MECHANISM. WHEN YOU SLIDE OUT THE MECHANISM BE SURE TO LEAVE THE LIGHT IN PLACE. It's literally a 10 minute DIY.

You can find a handle. Either wait for the correct color or have it painted to match. Around $125 used. No steps to write down but once yo I get it send me your phone and I'll text while doing FYI or call.

i had my battery died few months ago but it was 7 years old so i just replaced it
however, after the outside temperature went down i noticed that my CA handle is slightly warm.
after i disconnected it, the engine start in the morning goes much smoother

ok just want to report back - i replaced the handle with one i found on ebay. now working like a charm!

also when i replace it i noticed the handle was warm, probably been draining the battery and explained why the low battery light came on a while ago.

Exact same thing happened to me a couple months ago. Handle was warm and CA was not working. Dealer replaced it under warranty and now it's fine.

Can’t imagine how much dealer is going to charge me! very happy that it is such an easy diy. Although sourcing an used handle isn’t entirely easy.
