I just got home from work and was able to give one of my employees a quick pull down a short road.
The G-Power supercharger is no joke. I can really feel a big difference with the test pipes on them. I didn't remember all the wheel spin prior to them being installed. Anybody know much about these Toyo Proxies 4? I bought the car with them installed and they seem to have a lot of tread life left, but they don't grip very well with this much power. I want to save my experience for a more complete review after everything is complete. I will try to give me honest opinion, but keep it respectful, once all is done. The airbox is restrictive (done for a reason- think European supply). The blower delivers massive low-midrange torque With the correct pulley and tuning with a different airbox they are total monsters. |

Not really when it comes to electronics/computers, or BMW programming/coding.
I don't change oil and I don't install exhaust systems. It would get my white gloves dirty OP: Glad you're finally on the road!

I actually don't want to get any louder. I love the sound of it as is during heavy acceleration. I don't want to attract too much attention and also during my highway cruises I prefer silence so that I can think and reflect.

Problem diagnosed:
It was not a tuning issue, but a hardware piece missing. There is a reducer that is used on the G-Power supercharger that reduces the airflow from the plenum to the idle control valve. I did not get the part from the seller for the kit (I think the shop that removed the supercharger for him did not know if that was stock or a piece for the kit and did not put it with all the parts given to me). Anyhow, I did not have that part and too much air was flowing through the idle control valve. This explains the fault I was getting 2B0D of the idle control valve. G-Power is sending me this piece from Germany today. I am glad that G-Power is finally working with me to resolve the issue. |

I'd like to thank Sal@Evolve, Mike Benvo, and Roman@ESS for all their help with my questions and actually went out of their way to help me get this situation fixed even though I did not purchase a product from them. They are true enthusiasts and I would definitely purchase anything I need in the future from them without hesitation. They are not just here to push you to sell their products. I am glad there is a community of vendors that do not bash each other and help the end user with their problems on this forum. BTW Mike Benvo is a baller! New M5 in his stable (I'm so jealous)! |
