Enhancing sound of M Performance Exhaust

I'm looking to enhance the sound of my M Performance Exhaust and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations that doesn't involve messing with the cats as I do not want to deal with the NY emissions testing.

I really wanted to do test pipes, but it seems that having them will not pass the inspection and in order to pass I would probably need some sort of tune which I am not interested in doing at the moment.

delete everything up until the cats. or get a new exhaust, or leave it. I have the m performance but if I didn't delete the cats and add an x pipe, it sounds so soft lol

Test pipes videos sound raspy.
Not many xpipe MPE videos and the only one I've heard with the green e93 sounds really good to the point that I suspect the sound was modified with software.

I’m running hfc’s at the moment, still waiting for a cel. You could try the afe hfc x pipe as well. Others are running it and haven’t triggered a cel. The bottom line is you’ll need to mess with the cats to get more sound.

You should hear my Mperf with a 1 of 1 RPI X Pipe Catless. People tell me it sounds like a ferrari or lambo v10

The AFE introduced some rasp on my car with MPe but overall I think it compliments the character and importantly doesn’t make it obnoxious at light throttle, cruising on the highway it’s about the same as the stock xpipe

No CEL yet but it’s only been on the car a little over 1000 miles so far

By the way, BMW quietly but massively reduced the price for the M-performance exhaust systems for the E9x. I would assume they're ready to phase out carrying these.

Former MSRP I believe was $3995 ish? It is now $2590, and available from BMW Morristown for $1942.50. Well, smiles are for those who want to buy one; current M-perf exhaust owners just lost a lot of resale value I suppose.

Do you have before and after videos of this with MPE?

Does 'some rasp' by any chance mean the added rasp is less than that introduced from test pipes?

If you have videos, can you please share? I'd like to hear what it sounds like with the deleted resonators

I never had the MPE, i had the exhaust mod with a resonator delete. I did the resonator delete at a later time. It without a doubt makes the car louder. Everyone overlooks removing the resonators. But heres my car from years ago.

Buy the Dinan midpipe that’s for sale on the forum. You’ll enjoy the performance improvements and a wonderful exhaust note...

Has anyone paired the Fabspeed “sport primary cat” (200 cel) with stock X-pipe and MPE? I’m very curious if this emission legal combination reduces the amount of “rasp” that you hear with a primary cat delete.

mrspecter So what did you wind up going with? I'm another Long Island MPE user and would love to hear whatever you came up with! :-)
