Howdy all, just wondering if anyone can advise the best way to contact Carsara people? My unit just turned up and it didn’t include the quad lock connection, only a connection to idrive controller.. which is annoying because the whole point of buying the Carsara unit was to have audio go through the quad lock instead of the aux in the arm rest.

Near the bottom of the last page. A few have a 'new' Carsara and having issues.
I'm thinking I might request a refund.
I contacted Carsara via my online order. There is an option to chat.

So I've put one of the Andream carplay units for CCC in my 2008 e90 335i and am having two issues I'm hoping someone here might be able to help with.
1) Long pressing the voice button on the steering wheel activates both Siri and the factory voice control. Does anyone know if its possible to code out factory voice control?

2) The backup camera that came with the andream unit seems to be angled too far down, I can barely see 6ft behind the car. Has anyone else experienced this with the andream camera or is likely mine is just dodgy?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

For the aftermarket android units (not the MMI), can you use after market front camera? Not the DVR function but one connected via composite cable, eg like something attached. I won't be doing 360, just front and rear camera. Do you know when it turns on?

can the CIC andream carplay (revision B) have the ability to code out the need for an aux cable routing from the MMI unit to the armrest aux port below? or does it only work for the kremersino carplay units? and i'm under the impression that this will only work if a combox is installed in the car as well correct? right now i don't even have a combox installed which ill need to install eventually.

I have one of the Carsara units, and it has been working great. I still need to code to the harness aux input.
One thing I noticed is that with an iphone, wireless carplay starts up automatically when the car starts up. With wireless android, I have to long press menu, then select the phone from the popup message before android auto starts.
Anyone know a way to change this behavior? I'd prefer if android auto would autostart, since that's what I use most frequently.

Figured I'd ask here before diving into the coding. I have a CIC bimmertech MMI prime kit. Very happy with it so far, no issues, but I read that you could code out the armrest aux and have certain boxes go directly into the head unit.

I was just wondering if this was possible with the bimmertech unit. No combox in the car.

Thanks!

Yes it's possible. The options for coding are in my Carsara thread. The Bimmertech unit is the same basic hardware but a slightly older revision with some different software/UI.

Worked perfectly. Thanks for the info. I have one other question though, my mic randomly stopped working about a week ago. I haven't touched that wiring run since I installed it in february. Could it be a software/firmware issue? Or is it just that the wiring has come loose or the OE mic just died from age?

There's now a new kit out there that uses the MOST interface for audio instead of AUX, meaning no compromise in audio quality. Integrates directly into the CIC system by showing up as a cd changer. No quadlock adapter needed. This looks to be a game changer.

Check the mic connection behind the CIC. It's possible that harness got pinched if you removed it to code?

Only way to know for sure is to try to test both ends of the cable with a meter to make sure a conductor didn't get pinched or damaged. Unlikely the microphone component itself was damaged.

Now all it needs to do is use an integrated OEM mic with it.

I think it does. If you look at the f10 CIC install video, they dont touch the included MIC. I dont see why our cars would be any different.

Can you confirm this is the same unit as the one that is sold on eBay?

Mine starts automatically, but sometimes if I've opened a door without starting the car, I have to reconnect the phone in order for it to work.

Kind of fed up with the audio quality through aux with it. That new model looks more promising.

Thanks, ordered. Last weekend I was trying to install the Carsara unit, until I found out I got the newer version as well. As that one delivers worse audio quality, I was happy to learn there seems to be a better alternative now.

Hey, I,ve just installed a limcet box in my e92, and it is working beautifully except one thing - the resolution of the carplay is low, therefore the windows, icons and menus don’t look as they should do. I,ve previously installed a same type of limcet box (slightly different on the connections) in my brother’s e63, and there it is fine. Both are CCC systems.

Is there a setting I am missing or a possible firmware update (couldn’t find any)

This is the unit I got:

I found a fix for my issue. Unbeknownst to me the limcet unit has a factory mode menu with an “Advanced settings” submenu. All good but it is passcode protected. With little searching I found that the limcet passcode is 688612. Now in that menu there is a Display Aspect Ration setting, set to Auto. Google said that the CCC screen is 16:9, but what worked was instead 8:3. Now the screen looks the same way as the one in the E63

has anyone used the front camera? and if the front camera view can stay on?
I want to use the front camera port as input from a raspberry pi as drive analyzer. (so I won't need another display). It will work out only if front view can stay on as needed
