2011 e90, bluetooth for calls only, want to add usb
I currently have a 2011 build date e90 m3 which has:
S639A Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl USACDN S676A HiFi Speaker System S693A Preparation BMW Satellite Radio S697A AreaCode 1 For DVD S6AAA BMW TeleServices S6ABA Control For Teleservices S6VCA Control For Combox S645A BMW US Radio S663A Radio BMW Professional from my research based on the options above all i need is the correct cable, extension, and new aux/usb receptacle. finally coding to enable USB. Is this contingent upon whether the head unit itself has the USB connector? or would i run the USB cable from a junction in the trunk? |

USB comes from combox not CIC (head unit) fyi. Other than some coding you'll just need a cable and the USB plug in center council.

Let me know if this works for you, and also which provider you used for the coding.
I am wanting to add bluetooth audio, but would be fine if i could simply do this through a usb lightning cable. From what i have read, there is a cutoff date for early gen 2011 models that DO NOT have a combox, but rather the old TCU/module style. For us to gain this capability, we have to retrofit with a combox and adapter plug, then have the car coded. I have looked at bimmer-tech which has reasonable pricing, but i keep finding bad reviews for bad customer service on this site. I have also reached out to BPMsport on the forum, and have not been contacted back (its been two days). So PLEASE respond back with what you end up doing! Good luck! |

Yeah my 05/2010 - 2011 E90 M3 (Fully Loaded) does NOT have bluetooth audio. I ordered the attached link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It was very easy to install and work pretty well... My USB port was broken so I bought a new USB port from the local dealer. Works very seamlessly now. Bluetooth for the calls comes from the car, bluetooth for music comes from this device. Hope this helps! Omair |
