Nav Screen cleaning?
What do you all use to clean the nav screen?

This is the only product that you should let near your nav screen, PLUS, use only a microfiber towel to apply and polish:

Actually, the 1Z will work slightly but to remove stubborn film build up a VERY fine polish like CG wet mirror or CG Blacklight/Menz 85RD with a 100PPI foam applicator will work wonders(With patience and "Sweat equity").
If you look at the recent M3 CSL write up I put up I have pics of correcting just this kind of issue half way through the write up. |

I only use a clean microfiber cloth and sometimes a can of compressed air to screen my nav screen (and instrument cluster for that matter) and I do my best to avoid fine scratches as they will annoy you every time you see them in bright sunlight!!

Any LCD cleaning fluid will work. Most of them are just VERY light soap and filtered water. You want to avoid using anything alcohol or Windex as they'll destroy the anti-glare coating the on screen (same thing holds for non glass monitors).

I did the same steps on a new M3 sedan(Light polish as it was not bad) and no ill effect on the screen for me at least.

I never touch the screen. If it does get some dust on it, I will use compressed air or a microfiber towel if it's a lot of dust. I've never put anything on it to clean it... Never. No real reason, but it's never gotten dirty for me.

here's a pic of mine. This is why i ask, there seems to be a "dirt line" across mine and have NO idea what it is. All i know is when i got it back from the dealer, it was there...like someone put their wallet in the dash hole and it rubbed the screen??? IDK...
Thanks, Andrew
