I bet the cars that are warmed up then spanked every drive are the ones with less failure. The engines that are overly babied and driven at low RPMs at all times can't have the most healthy bearings.

OP congrats on your new bearings. I would feel very good about that bearing swap if it were my car.

Although I changed my bearings as preventative maintenance when the extended warranty ran out in 2014 and mine looked excessively worn for 60k miles, I do agree that probably 90% of these cars are still on their original bearings. However, of the probably 100 sets of pictures of removed bearings that have been posted here, 90% look bad. That is reason for concern.
