Ceramic interior controls - easy plug-n-play for e9X?

I was in the dealership waiting for my loaner and i looked at a new 650i m-sport coupe in the showroom (gorgeous car) and the idrive controls were a dark ceramic black.

Anyone retro-fitted these into their e9X yet? I'm assuming it's a simple plug-n-play connection if the controller itself is the same as our 2009+ cars?

I had looked into this. Pricey mod with no guarantee of fitment I was told, but would be nice looking.
