mod week

this week a bunch of parts ive been waiting on should be arriving. Ive been up since 4 today thinking about my car. M3's definitley make us go a little crazy. Tomorrow my rear tails are getting smoked(removing the film from my first attempt) and the secondary cats deleted at the same time. My macht snell spacers should be here end of the week from rennspec. camaro is shipping my 20,000k hids monday or tuesday. And bimmian is still screwing around trying to get me the film for the headlights. Then in less than a month i have my first track day planned at pacific raceways. yeah. My plan for today is to try and polish up the stock exhaust a little and see how that turns out. Hoping it will look similar to the eisenmann after polishing my IND. If it turns out hopefully after the first time here the repolish to keep it that way will be a little quicker. Will post photos of my stock can.

well i ended up with a pretty nice finshed product i think for only a couple hours of time. I first cleaned the entire stock can with simple green. I then went over the entire body of the can twice with plain old heavy duty rubbing compound. Next i went over it again twice with mothers wheel polish. Then one time with aurora 3000 hand glaze. Then a coat of ps21 wax for the finally. Chose these products because it was what was available in my garage at 6am on a sunday. All this was done by hand so saved me a trip to the gym today. i didnt have the lift available today either so done on jack stands which made it extra difficult. I wasnt able to remove everything but the dark stains that look like rust are gone as well as most of the scratches. im happy. It isnt a super mirror finish but not far off either.

Not too many people polish their muffler. But with the M3s muffler being so noticeable this may become a must if you don't do an aftermarket exhaust. Looks pretty good. Cheers.

yeah thanks just trying to make it look a little nicer and enhancing the sound with a secondary cat delete instead of a 2500 cat back pipe and 3000 for axle back.

i explained the whole process i went through in the second message in this post. Just used what i had available and spent a couple hours with it. Was really easy and cleaned up nice. Only some scratches that i couldnt get out but wasnt expecting perfection just a nicer look from the rear.

here is a quick pic of my smoked tailights turned out as dark as my others which isnt what i was going for. I was specific about being lighter than before and even looked at a couple samples to pick the darkness. Oh well too late now i guess. They look good still just a little too dark i think. I will take other photos once its not crappy out. to top it off the exhaust shop refused to do my secondary cat delete today as well. Not a good start to my mod week.

Most exhaust places will refused to remove your sec. cats since it is illegal.

Maybe it's the picture, but the inboard parts of the taillights look darker than the outer parts. Is this the case?

i think you may be right. Im not sure how that happened. im not all that happy with them as i wanted them a little less dark anyway. i will drive around for a while and may go to blacklines after all.

the addiction continues. broke down and ordered encore hfc mid section. hoping it will add a little more exotic exhaust note and add a few hp as well. going with this and my stock polished rear section. also ordered matte front and side grille and rpi scoops. Just anxious for the parts to start rolling in. waiting on camaro 20,000k hids, front lens tint, macht snell spacers as well. also monday is my first track day at pacific raceways looks like its gonna rain?

just finished putting on the macht snell spacers 15/12 set up. quality product, didnt have a scale to weight them or would have posted that. used a little anti seize compound on the backs just in case. not sure if i like them or not yet. very subtle mod. makes my stock ride height look a little worse i think but will have to drive on it and see how i feel. first 2 are before and 2nd 2 are afters.
