I believe they would work in the E90, but you would need to order the OEM ///M3 door sills from your dealer to install the inserts.

Very nice! How much, and how's the installation?

You need to remove the sill from the car, swap inserts, and run the wiring up to the footwell light under the dash. This won't work on the sedan though, sorry. E92/E93 only.

Why exactly will this not work on the sedan? Is it something to do with the wiring?

I'm not sure if the sedan has the same style of door sills as the coupe (with the LiquiDome ///M3 insert), but even if it does, it is most likely a different size than the coupe.

I assume these aren't modified OEM door sills but custom made ones?

I'd love to see a review of these for whoever decides to try them first! They look very slick.

You need to use the original OEM door sill - you simply remove the factory ///M3 insert and replace it with the illuminated insert.

Quite a few people on M5Board and M3Forum have the same product for the E39/E46 - you can definitely search feedback there.

Where does the wire tap go? Does it require pulling out lots of panels? Are we trying to tap into the foot well light?

The wire tap is on the passenger side footwell light, you are correct.

Panels that need to be removed:
1) Door sills (both sides)
2) Trim piece above door sill (both sides)
3) Lower glove box trim panel
4) Panel above gas/brake pedals

So if I'm understanding this correctly. I can tap the driver side to the driver side foot well and the passenger side to the passenger side foot well?

You only tap the passenger side - the wiring harness extends from the passenger side across behind the center console to the driver's side.
