BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 5,000.00

Item Interest
I have a set of BBS FI I used on track days.
they are not cosmetically perfect.
i would advise budgeting for refinish.

The price is firm, as it make no sense to sell for less than asking price.

Local pickup would make sense. Local pickup can be arrange at ACM in NJ because I have to pickup my car next weekend.

Center caps are not included, but I have a good source from eBay the will sell authentic and new center caps for these FIs.

The rear wheels have new 295/30/19 MPSS
The front has new 285/30/19 MPSS.

The price does not include the tires, but the buyer is welcome to buy the tires on the rims if it make sense.

Please do not use this FS thread to pontificate about the 18" vs 19" sizes.

What are the offsets?

And would you consider selling without tires and shipping.

If so, shoot me a pm

The rims are being sold with out the tires.
Shipping is at buyer expense.
I prefer a local sale to keep the price down.

If no one local is interested, I will consider shipping. But shipping is a hassle I am trying to avoid.

Well, it is an opportunity to get them less expensively, then refinish them when funds become available again.

This set is the correct high end BBS forged wheels for the E92 M3. They are, I think, no longer available new. If that is the case, then this set would be the cheapest way to get them.

A very good road combination is 275/35/19 on the rear and 275/30/19 on the front. Together with the MPS4S is a killer combination.

Put on top of this an E92 M3 and life is good!

This is a very fair price. These wheels go for $8k new. There is one new set hanging around in Black but otherwise not something BBS stocks.

If buyer wants to refinish - do NOT powder coat them. Paint the wheels. Also make sure heat is not used to remove the existing finish. The heat used in the PC process will weaken the forged AL.

Not to thread jack, how is the heat used to powder coat different from the heat subjected to the wheels when on the track? E.I. braking friction. Arguably, high temps.

The heat on track is nowhere near PC heat. Brakes and tires experience elevated temperatures but the wheels do not get to that level

Slicer,

While many here would agree you've done a lot for the community. Certainly, you've gained a lot of respect for your connection with BBS and other manufacturers. However, a lot of folks come here for facts and how-to's. Even more I think to make sure they don't screw something up.

Saying powder coating weakens the wheel, doesn't necessarily jive with why certain wheels are manufactured.

With disc temps approaching 1100C. Calipers 260C. Tire temps reaching 135C. I don't see how 400f. +/-50 to cure powder would weaken a wheel. Especially when IND, Auto Couture do custom colors on some projects.
