e93 rear deck chrome trim

I just finished covering my chrome trim with shadowline vinyl. I thought it would be fun doing it myself.
Actually it wasn't bad until I hit the rear deck!

The "U" curvature along with the change in height really made me start cursing myself for not taking it to a shop.
I finally finished but the result is a bunch of patchwork with more bubbles than I care for.

Has anyone had success doing the rear deck and want to share their secrets? The perfectionist side of me wants to try to do it again, but my aching back tells me to just not look so close!

Had mine done at a shop. THey used a larger sheet to cover the area and cut out the excess. Good luck though.
