Ouch, two months? What happened to you?

My son runs for Newman. He only started running last year so not one of the top runners but he enjoys it. And SO much better than the club soccer he played for years. Year round travel for club soccer sucks!

Broke my ankle. Hope to drive in the next week or two.
And I know all about travel soccer....he plays that and for school too. Hence why I've yet to make a C&C event :/

Travel soccer and CC? I'm so sorry! My son's school won't allow travel soccer and CC, you have to choose one or the other... Thankfully he chose CC!

Yeah, they're pretty good about playing more than one sport at school and often encourage it. Of course, he's not giving 100% to either cause they often interfere with one another, but oh well. He's already a junior, it'll all be over soon. lol

Yes, soon! My son is a sophomore so a bit longer to go than you...

And just found out that the coach has scratched my son from the meet. He's back to running in practice but no sense re-injuring himself. Guess that means I'm not making the drive to BR and actually get to sleep past 5 am this Sat!

Well, I guess that's good and bad I suppose. Would he not be required to attend with his team though? I'll be out there but fortunately live about 5 miles away, so won't have to get up too early. lol

He will attend but no need for me to get up early and drive to to BR only to watch him hold a clip board for his coach! He will ride there and back with the rest of the team on the bus...

yeah, I don't blame ya. We kinda did the same thing last weekend at the Battlefield in Port Hudson......just went to support the team(which won) and didn't expect son to run but he did at the last minute(in the open run) since he was sick and hadn't ran in 10 days. Not sure if ya'll will be there the following weekend but we're hosting that one at Highland on 10/10

Not next weekend, we'll be back in N.O. for the Country Day meet at City Park. We're a small (2A) school so we generally don't run with the big schools like Catholic.

Small world! What's your friend's name? It's a small school, I'm sure to know him or at least have heard the name...

Flat out event? Not familiar with that one... I've heard about something called NOLA speed and style at the track. Same thing? Might go Sunday...

Ah maybe it is called speed and style put on by flat out motorsports. I just checked my confirmation email. I'll be there both days running the road course.

That's it, Flat Out is handling the HPDE portion of the event...
