Please provide a Dyno print out proving this, 10HP at the wheels with just a pulley change

Alleviating drag on the engine helps the car rev with just a little less effort. I did this mod for the increased "driveability". The "added power" was a bonus.
So this so called 'drag' that you speak of, isn't that cause by what the belt is driving...so you want to gain at best 1-5HP at the demise of your Water Pump, AC, Power Steering and anything else that its turning running slow? Makes sense.

Could you please elaborate. I just purchased a E90 M3 recently and the pulley seems like a very popular, lost cost, and effective mod.
Sorry i do not, nothing to back this up other than common sense. The biggest drag on the belt is the alternator/AC and BMW already designed that so that when you are WOT it is disconnected and free-moving with little resistance.

There are no other gains to be made in this department. Spend the money on petrol or a nice meal for the women in your life

Sure, for instance the bloke from England in post #8, gives a blanket statement that runs very contrary to dyno, and 1/4 mile track speed, physical evidence.

I've not looked or searched but i can take a guess that the Dyno results were provided by whatever the company was that's trying to sell you a product. These companies don't want hundreds of these underdrive pulleys sat on the shelves so they will of course show you big gains are to be had to move the product on...

People are doing full bolt on everything with a tune and barely making 30+WHP in the real world so please tell me again how JUST a pulley can make 10WHP increase...

I do not have the old graphs to show, but I was also skeptical of the gains. Saw my buddy pick up 12rwhp on same day runs. When I did my car I gained 10rwhp.

Since I am running a SC set up now these MS 09-up pulleys are sitting in a box doing nothing. Anyone care to make an offer? PM me.

Again, do a search. There are quite a few independent dynos done by members here. Note, before/after dyno Jet dynos, with the SAE correction factor.

Sounds like the issue I had:

Ordered the 2007-2008 pulley as my vehicle is 07.07 production.

Turns out at some point in time before I owned it, the power steering pump was changed to the 2008.05+ model.

So the belt (2007-2008) no longer works. It fits just fine, but the pump is spun the opposite way.

First thing I would do is confirm you put the belt on the same way that the OEM was on.

the belt is routed the old way, i can tell its spinning backwards... and the belt that came with the kit only has a single sided power steering belt, the one thats on the car is a double sided... i can try to put the stock belt back on but the new powersteering pump pulley is quite a bit smaller than the stock one, have a feeling it wouldnt really work all that great, if at all...

and did you get a new belt from the guy you bought it from? or just go to the local parts store and pick one up?

Dinan pulley belt

Well after two mechanics failed Finally **********s Tech was able to install my Dinan underdrive pulley and belts. He put the belt on a tire mounting machine. The claws on the hydroloc machine used to hold the wheel stretched the belt slowly over a period of about 3 hours while he heated the belt with a hot air gun. It was incredible. The entire shop was amazed. What a nightmare!

Wtf! I will also never buy another Dinan part after their sway bar nightmare. Plus their customer service leaves A LOT to be desired.

Literally just installed my Dinan Pulley kit in a 2013. No problem with the belts. It's snug, but if you have the belt routed and mounted properly, (especially the a/c pulley and crank pulley, you slide the belt over the tensioner pulley (since it's smooth) and voila. done.
The biggest pain in the ass is BMW's placement of the idler infront of the damn water pump pulley .... :/

2013 here btw.

Sorry, but you got lucky. The Dinan provided belt is EXTREMELY difficult to install on 90% of cars. I nor multiple other mechanics could get my Dinan belt on the car. When I called and spoke with one of Dinans own techs, who installs these kits for a living, he divulged there are some cars the belt is too tight for and will not fit.

At that point I was done with Dinan products.

Hey are these the Dinan belt size? I'm looking to buy spare Dinan underdrive belts, the ones installed dont have markings, and dont feel like buying from dinan direct. I just purchased the car. I have a 2011 e92 M3, Thanks
