Lol...that's why I run 275/40R17s
How are the 275/40/17s more than the 275/35/18?

Lol...they're usually $225/tire.

That site has really odd pricing which varies a lot.

You are the man, just ordered my 275/305 set We will see how it compares to 275 square.
How do those 305's fit in the rear? What are your wheel specs?

APEX 18x11" ET44 with 12mm or 15mm spacers does the trick. Negative camber helps of course (-1.8 to -2 degrees), but most get away without having to roll fenders much.

VS 11 et 25 wheel? Guess more conservative offset leaves play room for different tire brand width differences? (Playing arm chair quarterback).

That is correct. 11" ET25 is a bit too aggressive for 305 r-compounds like the NT01. The APEX 18x11" ET44 is a very flexible solution as you can spacer accordingly.

I just received my NT01's from simpletire and am a bit disappointed that they have a build date of 2016. It's well within spec but I'm not sure where they're getting this old stock.

That is a little irksome, but the good news is that it won't matter once you turn the tread on these babies into noise...

I missed the sale and had to buy full fare from discounttire..

So I've been trying to get ahold of simpletire to ask about the old tires that I got and can't seem to get any type of response. I guess they are able to sell cheap tires because they have no customer service and source old stock tires.
I'll be going back to discount tire going forward.

With a by the book "4yr rule" that leaves you at 2020. Don't think you'll have burned through them in that time? Or are you just hoarding NT01s

In any case. Take the 4 yr rule w a grain of salt. Unless your driving competitively I would not worry!

Discount tire isn't immune to the same issue. They sold me some aged Hankook TD's in the past.

Tire rack has been the most consistent for me, certainly not the cheapest though.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it's for competition purposes. As long as they are stored in a climate controlled environment, you'll be fine if it's from 2014/2015.

Which month's do they normally run this deal? I will need a new set by next March. Don't want to buy a set now just to store it away unless I have to.

You can keep an eye out for eBay's sitewide promo codes for 15-20% off. They have been doing it quite often lately, sometimes every week. Before end of a calendar quarter seems to be a pattern.

Slickdeals.net and doctorofcredit.com report on it too.

Just checked my NT01s I picked up from Simple Tire last month and mine are mid 2018 production as well. Not sure why the one guy got much older tires.
