Anybody running 295s squared?

I'm curious if any member is running a 295/30/18 setup without any fitment issues. If so please state:

1. Wheel make and dimensions
2. Suspension
3. Spacer size (if applicable)
4. Camber settings

I'm sure I should have started my suspension build with one of the three letter coilover brands, but I'm hoping to see a fellow KW setup.

I searched for a good 30 mins and I have to kind of piece together stories to get 85% of my question answered. However, I did find a user that kept popping up named Slicer so I messaged him as he may be much more helpful.

Thanks anyways!

Ask on the track forum... there's no point running that much tire up front unless you're a track rat.. it'll be awful for the street

Thanks for suggesting the track forum. Why do you say it'll run awful for the street?

Better question is why would you run 295 square on the street? Also 295/30 on 18" is pretty small diameter (around 25").

Heavy steering and brutal tram lining. The car will want to wander through the ruts around town. 295 up front comes stock on an 8.0 liter v10 viper acr for the weight up front around the track. No need on m3 unless you are a competitive track junkie...

Street or track? I think fsmtnbiker has made 305's work all around.

I think there are examples larger than 305s (315?) on the front too. But again this is for the track.

There's no benefit on the street. Even 295s will require coilovers and substantial neg camber.

Agreed. On street personally happy with 265 up front.

This question is a trap! Whatever my reason is, it will be refuted by I will say a couple years ago I had a Mustang GT PP2 and it came on a 20x11 with 305 squared setup from the factory and the handling was amazing...Might be apples to oranges due to magna ride and all but I figured there had to be something there and it looked downright mean!

I've had a wider setup from the factory on a 5.0L V8, but I know what you're getting at...

Street with some VERY intense weekend warrior! Working from home now, my M3 is my 4 days out the week car and only drive about 50 miles per week so I want to explore the unreasonable side of things. I think 295's would be as far as I would go. I love how BMW decided X5M's need 325s on the rear too! It's just so mean

I just put a set of 255/295 on.. I also have a set of 275 squared and have had 275/295 prior to this. The smaller 255 up front is by far my favorite for what I do... but I'm surrounded by third world roads in northern Cali. Or maybe I'm getting soft. Hated wrestling the car around town with 275's up front.

Did the mustang have an electric rack?

Ha, wouldn't call it a trap but I hear you. Seriously aside from looking aggressive, it's not going to enhance much. I don't think it is a useful comparison but you sound determined so go for it!

What's your coilovers/camber setup?

Ha! I do recall having a firm grip on the steering wheel during some memorized sections on the freeway due to serious tramlining with the 305s.

Yes, it had EPS and I know we have hydraulic...but it was a very mechanically feeling EPS from what I remember.

Nah, I think you guys talked me back into reality, especially Slicer offline lol. I jus installed some KW V3's, going to get an alignment after I figure out my final wheel specs. Probably gonna play it safe on the typical 18x10 275/35 combo with a side of large fries and a coke.
