Special Order: 2008 M3 E90 (Sedan)
I'm a new member to this forum...and hope to contribute in some capacity, if by no other way than genuine enthusiasm for driving. I have never owned a BMW, because I could not afford to. Now, I can afford to, so I have ordered the new Sedan with Silverstone Metallic w/ Extended Bamboo Beige / Anthracite Wood. I actually changed my original order right before it went into production as a Sparkling Graphite w/ Extended Fox Red, which I admit is a much sportier combination. It's just so difficult to select the right combination when you've waited so long to afford a car of this caliber.
I went with the Silverstone / Bamboo Beige / Anthracite Wood due to the fact that the SS paint color is "M" exclusive and also that I may get tired of having red leather after a few short months. I decided that it made more sense (for me) to have a car that had the look of a luxury sedan, but that drives like something extremely special. I have not seen anyone on this site mention this particular combination. Maybe it's because this is a sports sedan and most of you have the mind-set of a sports-car. I don't disagree with that at all. Anyway...I'm expecting my ride in June...but as I understand it, the sedan's become available a bit faster than the coupe's as they are in higher demand. I guess I should note that as far as the options package, I got everyting except the cold-weather package, the folding rear seats and the upgraded stereo system. I can install a better sound system than even the premium offering. Thanks, and I am excited to see so much commotion around here about the new body-style M3's. |

Congrats. I just ordered an M3 E90 myself, and I also struggled mightily with choosing a color combo. I wanted to go with an M3-specific color as well. After seriously considering SSII, IB, and JB, I decided to go with Melbourne Red Metallic. I just decided it was appropriate for a small, hi-perf sedan (and it looks sharp in real life as well). Plus, it will be less common than the typical white/black/silver spectrum of BMWs.
Like you, I went with the Bamboo Beige interior (albeit non-extended). The interior is mostly black anyway, but the beige color adds some interesting contrast and provides an "organic" look to the leather surfaces. The good news is that it's hard to go wrong with the color combos that are available. And if anyone complains about the choice you made, you can always turn off your DSC and leave them standing in a cloud of dust and rubber as you speed away from them. |

yep. pretty sure you are the first to go with ssII/bb/wood. i think that SSII and beige is not recommended by BMW. i'll be curious to see how it turns out. keep us posted when you take delivery!

Whooo hooo!! I just called the dealer because the "Owners Circle" thing would not cooperate and he said that the car is built and waiting for the boat to be sent over to the US.
I knew the sedan's were faster to produce, but a whole month early?!?! I am jumping out of my skin!! Heh. Rant over- |

Like you I am torn about color choice.........I can't decide between Sparkling Graphite/Red Fox vs. SSII/Black. I just think that keeping SG clean will piss me off

It looks like mine will be here first, mtsound. I just got word on Friday that my M3 will be delivered Monday or Tuesday.
I will definitely go and see it and drive it, but I will most likely let them keep it for tinting and clear bra installation. Does anyone know how long it takes to have this stuff done? I will call the dealer and ask. So my 6MT E90 will be mine very soon! -3_for_the_money |

....and the 18's look really good when paired with either of the grey colored (..space grey/sparking graphite) ///M3's. I spent 35 minutes behind the wheel of a Space Grey ///M3 on 18's, and was really impressed with how good it looked. |

Agree with the 18's and gray, but did not like with SSII. Saw SSII with 18's and 19's next to each other and thought the 18's were too dull with the hue of the SSII. The 19's looked great with SSII. Really liked 18's IRL on sparkling graphite and space gray in pics.
