Airbags and racing seats question

I've considered new seats for a long time and may start to save for a spring 2019 purchase. My question is whether the airbags will still work if the airbag fault is coded out. Ive read this is necessary since the seat sensors would be disconnected.
Obviously i would be losing the seat airbags too, would this be something i should discuss with my insurance company?
Any advice or info is appreciated!

Your remaining airbags would remain functional. I would not discuss with your insurance company.

Agreed however consider why your insurance company might want to know and then ask yourself if that creates additional risk you're willing to take. I'm talking about your safety.

Right. That's something I've considered. It's a step in an overall track focus direction i may go with the car. But yeah, seat side airbags are never a bad thing.
