German genes....

New project. I can see the resemblance. Can you? German genes. I'm replacing all the door and window rubber, every other kind of rubber, tires, brakes, a lot of cleaning, fixing a lot of dings and dents acquired since 1971. Did I say how fricken cheap everything is? And VW forum guys are complaining about prices. This car has no computer, no GPS, no smog requirements, and almost 30 mpg. No loan, or lease. All original, has not been disassembled, minimal rust, shiny paint under the dirty parts. I have two heated power leather front seats out of a Passat for it too. Factory air conditioning, Autostick transmission. And I have a fuel tank to add that will give it almost 1000 mile range per fill up.

The M3 goes in tomorrow for rod bearings. For the VW I can get a built long-block for much less than the bearings will cost me.

I had a few bugs in my teens. One with a Type 4 motor and Weber carbs, etc. A baja bug with roll cage, lots of shocks, I miss it. It would go anywhere, fast.
