Thanks Greg, but I was looking for pictures of the American car that show reflectors, interior differences, etc.

I do not have a pdf, but the us brochure has euro type seats in the pics for both the sedan and coupe.

Isn't that false advertising when clearly the rest of the car in the U.S. brochure shows U.S. parts, i.e. reflectors and MPH speedometer?

Build Your Own shows the reflectors, but the interior pic appears to show large bottom cushion bolsters.

The Build Your Own page also shows the Euro seats, which are evident in that pic. You can tell the difference between the car shows (U.S.) seats and the Euro seats in two ways:

1. Euro seats have a line down the center of the top cushion
2. The side bolsters on the Euro version point up and then midway through point down, like a triangle, where the U.S. bolsters are simply curved downward.

I drew a yellow line to show the different shapes:

U.S.:

Europe:

The seat in the U.S. Build Your Own page clearly shows the same seat in the Euro car with the triangle curve and center line:

What does the disclaimer say? Obviously the Euro model isn't shown if a MPH speedometer and orange reflectors are shown.

Lots...

All illustrations and specifications contained in this brochure are based on the latest product information available at the time of printing. BMW reserves the right to make changes at any time, without notice, in colors, materials, equipment, specifications and models. .......

It does show the reflectors and us speedo.

Does the first picture of the three above scare anyone away from Fox Red? I believe BMW is stating that the seat bottoms for US are "Sport Seats", not the standans 3 seats. Am I wrong? Still not nearly as cool or functional as the Euro Seats.

Do we know that cars for us delivery have the std e92 seat bottom for sure? Some pics from car shows, cars for special events, etc... had them. But, one of the black seats from the ones monsta took at BMWNA had euro styled ones.

That's what the dealer Aftersales Training document says, so I would guess that we get the regular E92 Sport seat bottoms.

Yes, this is confusing. I just checked the Monsta's pics, one of the cars, maybe even two, clearly have the Euro spec seats, whereas another one doesn't. What does that mean? That a BMW exec demanded Euro spec seats and got them?

I'm guessing that what it means is that BMW didn't have all the US-spec stuff in house at the time, so they built with what they had on hand

Very likely. As far as I know, all cars built specifically for the purpose of public viewing in the US (i.e. car shows) have the non-M3 specific seat-bottom. I suspect all cars built for actual US consumption will similarly follow suit.

I wonder if this is the first case of this? I seem to remember something similar with past BMWs i.e Euro seats differing from US seats.

Another case of the US product being diluted. Not as bad as it used to be when we got diluted engines compared to Europe.

I like the looks and the fact of the extra bolster so I think it sucks that they are different. The top is still all M3. I can not imagine the bottom alone making enough of a difference to go aftermarket.

I'm wondering how much trouble and expense it would be to swap out the bottom cushions and upholstery. At least a grand, I'm sure.
