I have driven a couple of M4s and still ended up buying a 12' E92 ZCP, the V8 soundtrack is something I look forward to every time. I dont daily drive it but that makes it even more enjoyable when I do. The M4 does look amazing but the driving excitement just wasn't there for me.

I owned an e92M, and I crossed over to the dark side and bought an F80. I have to tell you guys, I never loved the F80. I sold it after less than a year. it was an amazingly fast and competent car in every way, but I discovered that I just can't do turbos. can't stand the rubber band feeling of the power delivery and the huge step backwards in throttle response and SOUND. I ended up getting a GT4, which I am in love with.

when I get more garage space, I'd love to pick up another M3 so I can take my kids on drives with me, but when I do, no doubt it will be another e92M.

enjoy those V8's.

I just sold my M4 comp pack and I'm buying an E92 M now. Ill miss the brute force and more luxurious interior but I'm looking forward to the soul and engine tone from the v8.

My biggest problem right now is deciding 6MT vs DCT.

And yes I know I've talked a lot of pro F8x smack in this thread

The 6mt vs dct decision is hard dmk08. I have one of each and each provides their own thrills
The dct with oem gts software is spectacularly efficient and effective
The 6mt allows more cretinous fun and when you do that perfect downshift it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy

Yeah I actually owned an 08 manual and an 11 DCT ZCP in the past. Its really hard for me to compare tho because the 11 was just such a better and tighter car overall.

In the end I'm more worried about color combo and price so I'll probably 'settle' for either transmission. Space Grey with Fox Red is harder to find than I expected...

I'm actually in the same boat as you. In the market for another E92, having just sold my 6MT M4 ZCP and having already owned an '08 MT and '12 DCT.

Can't make up my mind anymore either ... one week it's DCT and the next it's 6MT, but I'll probably look for the right deal since I actually enjoyed both transmissions.

Probably a lot easier than the other way around!

I've been ready to get back into an E9x M3 for awhile now but waiting for current lease to end. I've been dogging the F8x but finally drove one at M Track days over the weekend and I get why people like it. It actually sounded good to me from inside but terrible outside. It also had a waaaay better/more active diff which I didn't expect. The handling was clearly superior and the torque and overall speed was obviously very good. Interior was more buttoned down with much better seats.

Im still going to look for that perfect V8 M3 because it's a special car that will never be available again, but I wouldn't mind owning an F8x either.

Yeah its good inside with the windows up. But on a nice summer day with the windows down you get all the badness from the outside lol. I owned one for 3 years and I just couldn't get over it.

Wasn't that the 2nd F8x you've owned?

DKM08 I do remember the amount of smack you talked regarding the F8X cars vs. the E9X cars, I am glad you came around. A buddy of mine bought a 2017 M4 ZCP and he really wants out of it to get back into a E92. He wants to put it on leaseswap.com and see if he can get out of it. Its just there aren't that many E92 M3s out there with 6MT to buy that are below 40k miles. Within 500 miles of my zip only 6 available.

Once again, welcome back..

Dave
