New Yokohama ADVAN RS's are FINALLY on their way!

Just talked to Julius at WSTO today and the RS's came in yesterday. Today, they are on their way to me. I can't wait to see them and finally try the M3 on a set of r-comps! Sorry for the useless post, but I'm excited

I ordered the Advans in 18x9.5 and 18x10 for track use a month ago.

The rear will be completely flush, but the front could use a 5mm spacer to be perfectly flush like the rear.

Are you serious?!?! The widths and offsets were designed for the M3, as is the center bore. They are perfect as-is:
The front wheel is 1/2" wider than OEM and 5mm more outward.
The rear wheel is 1/2" wider than OEM and 3mm more outward.

There is absolutely no need for spaceers. I can't believe you would even suggest that. One of the things that attracted me to these wheels is the fact that spacers are not needed. As somebody who spends many days/weekends at tracks, I don't want to mess with spacers or centering rings when constantly switching wheels.

Also, the color is techncially called "Dark Gun Metal", which I only got because there is no added cost associated with it. I don't care much about color, as long as they're not black.

You are right that there is no need for spacers. But MrHarris is right that a 5mm spacer would give it a more flush look. Without spacers the edge of your front wheels will be 11mm closer to the fender than stock (1/2" = 12.5mm, 12.5mm/2 = 6mm, 6mm+5mm = 11mm). Many people are putting 18mm spacers on their OEM front wheels for a flush look. I had 15mm spacers on mine and loved it. A 5mm spacer is certainly not necessary but it would improve the stance.

I don't care what it "looks" like. It's about performance. Having a wider front track will increase understeer, which is NOT desirable. Yokohama got it right. Sorry to be blunt, but that's how it is.

Are you sure they are hubcentric?
I ordered 18x9.5 and 18x10, so the rears are the same and I think I recall that Advans are not hubcentric and will need rings. Using hubcentric rings is not a big deal though.

advan wheels are hubcentric...no need for rings to install the wheels.

price may seem high but considering the quality of the rims and its low weight, the combo is hard to beat. i cant think of a single set of 19" rims at the same price point that is lighter.

IMHO, these are one of the most perfect aftermarket wheels for our cars. The widths and offsets are perfect for upsizing tires by one or two (can run 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 in front and 275/35/18 or 285/35/18 in back). They don't need spacers or hub-centering rings, and of course, the bolt pattern is correct. They accept OEM TPMS no problem, are relatively light, and very strong. The ONLY bad thing about them is that some folks don't like their looks. I for one, like them. But alas, they'll only see track use, so who cares.

Nice pictures, but mine won't look the same. Mine are 18" and dark gun metal, not 19" and black.
