rs4 and m3 sedan. that would be a really hard pick. I may go rs4 cause I'm still not convince yet over the rear or side profile of the m3 sedan. but other than that, the m3 has everything else better.

I'm going to be buying a used RS4 if I can find one with low miles, or a E90 M3, in a couple months. It will be a second car and not driven daily. Looking for some input on both cars if someone here has driven both.

Thanks
Looks like you went M3. Great choice. I would have done the M3 over the RS4 as well.

Anyone can make a car that fast if you dumped that kinda of money into it. Personally I hope no one would do that to a 335 cause its pretty stupid. Its not even street legal and there are better cars for the purpose like a TT Viper/Gallardo or something if I really wanted a straight line drag car with lexan windows and a parachute and 1 seat I guarantee I wouldn't buy luxury sport sedan as my starting point... Considering they probably dumped the same amount of cheese into it.

Audi isn't close to dead. They have one best driving cars sold today, the R8. It really is a dream to drive.

BMW is too busy building worthless M-suvs.

I'd go for the RS4. The exhaust note self itself alone. I'm just not a fan of the E90 M3. Audi RS4 has a much more aggressive stance especially when lowered. Did I mention the exhaust note?

The RS4 is a better looking car than the E90 or E92 M3.

But the M3 is the better performing car.

Exhaust note is pretty close to the same.

They're both pretty sweet. The thing I don't care for about the RS4 is the AWD system, though. Just not a big fan of it in general, especially FWD systems that are adapted to AWD.

the fact that both Audi and Mercedes are building better sports cars than BMW is a bad joke.

I went through the exact same decision making process, I walked into a BMW dealer to look at a traded in RS4 (which was listed for a screamer of a price) and walked out with a M3 after back-to-back test drives. And thus far Ive been very happy with the choice.

hmmm - go and test drive both cars - twice: on a dry day and wet day.

I have an M3 V8 sedan (jb,dct blah blah tick every box). I love the car and am not regretting saying goodbye to my 335i. Some M3 V8 pros and cons imho:

Pros:
it is just so much fun! Summer evenings - you're in the car on the twisty roads out of choice
hit the throttle and welcome to the aircraft carrier launch (if the roads dry - if its wet well - hope u had full insurance

Cons:
V8 loves to drink - long-term ave. 15l
your pax will get a headache if u push the car
if it's wet or snowy, take some caffeine and join grandma in the slow lane - M3's like bambi on ice if you're too fast

Hope this helps.

The M3 is fast, but look at the torque curve and torque number that 4.2 is putting down. Very impressive. It makes the car feel faster when driving at 5/10th. In other words, the RS4 is a superior daily driving engine in my opinion.

michaeldorian may be right. I've never tried the RS4 but the M3 is a split personality: fuel efficiency mode or press M and the monster awakes. There is no in-between.

Exactly. I've own both. The M3 is superior at 7th/10th, 8th/10th's but below that, I'd take my RS4 back in a second.
