Tire Rack : Tire Storage Rack - mounting tips / advice ?

Recently decided to purchase the Tire Rack - wall mounted Tire storage rack. Very solid piece am thoroughly impressed by its design & how it was packaged upon arrival.

Before I install - wanted to ask anyone on board if they've got one. Lessons they learned or put in place IE different hardware. All to help members in the future with this great product.

Admittedly I'm a bit hesitant placing up high, even stud mounted. Watched interesting video where guy said he would install extra chain supports for that (just in case) scenario.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get this thing put up!

It's tempting to mount it very high so you don't lose any space underneath, but do you really want to try and pick up 50+ pounds and carry it up a ladder or whatever?

inb4 do more shoulder presses

Of course! Those look great, can't tell if they have the sliding portion? Largest dimension on the Tirerack one is the support bar of 66".

Not as if a daily routine! From what I have gathered can't mount at highest point of wall (needs amount of space for other portion).

A lot of the comments on this specific rack are about the sub-par LAG bolts which are used to fasten. Complaints of the supplied ones snapping on install so am gonna grab some upgraded hardware prior to installing.

Fits my 275/295 oem setup fine. Not sure what that equates to.

I run the same racks and have been very happy with them. One holds the winter wheels and the other holds the track/daily wheels depending whats on the car. Two years now with no problems.

I was wable to fit (2)19x10 with 275 and (2)19x11 with 305. I mounted the rack at its widest safe point.
