WTB e90 m3 - $20,000

Hey all, I am currently beginning my search for an E90 M3 between $15-20k. With a new kid coming into the picture, the Gladiator Rubicon just isn't child-friendly for my lifestyle. I am willing to pick up from any city or state that does not have snow. It's understandable that given the price range, the mileage will be on the higher side.

Willing to negotiate price if reasonable.

MUST HAVE:
Rod bearing replacement
Clean title

PREFER TO HAVE:
Throttle actuator replaced
Modded exhaust
Maintenance records/documents

OPEN TO:
Any exterior/interior colors
6MT
DCT

Thanks and much appreciate it.

Jack

Based on your Must Haves / Prefers To Have... you are probably going to have to spend closer to $25k minimum for a clean title/properly maintained e90.

I bought my e90 about a year ago and have been monitoring this section for 2-3 years and haven't seen anything like you are describing in the 15k-20k range. (unless they didn't have a clean title)

Of course, I was only looking for a MT6 with under 60k miles so if you are open to DCT / higher miles you might get closer to your max.

Just a friendly suggestion that you might need to adjust your expectations.... good luck with your search. Great car.

It goes without saying that the expectations I have will of course be a car with high miles, which I don't have a problem with if all the preventatives have been performed.

But thanks for the look out.

Not my car but this one is listed a few post below yours:

I am looking for something similar to yours but with a higher budget. That being said, I'm finding alot of sellers are sitting on their cars for at least a month and are willing to go down 2-3k from their asking price.

Perhaps start looking in the 23-24k range and negotiate from there.

Keep in mind it will need to pass California smog as well, so if you find a molested car, you might need to spend some time and money getting it legal in California.

I think your best bet is a car that's been in an accident that other's are staying away from.

15-20k is a horrible budget for a clean car.. Lol. Clean title + rod bearing replacement already takes you out of that range.

You’re looking for a budget car, that won’t have any issues, which is impossible.
It’s still an expensive machine to operate.
The expectation that someone is going to drop 10 grand into a car, then sell it for 15 is a bit unreasonable.

I'm unable to search for it right now but if you're able to access the marketplace section of Facebook on Oahu there is a higher mileage 6mt space gray E90 floating around. Kid bought it from the original owner who maintained it very well and is selling at a loss after only a few months. Shipping to Cali shouldn't be outrageous.. Sale price was around 15-16k last I checked.

Just want to update for whoever ends up reading this post.

I did end up finding the perfect E90 within my budget despite all those above who said it was impossible. It met all the criteria that seemed like a huge ask for some. With a good and respectful attitude towards sellers I've come across, I was able to find one who was willing to work to my price. So huge respect to him.
