With respect to the C8 lap time on the VIR full course, I then looked up on the web the lap time on VIR full course but the only entry came up was the Viper ACR MKV, but it was driven by Ralph Gilles who is not a professional racer.

I then looked the Viper lap time at Laguna Seca driven by Pobst, and it was faster than the 720S, and only one second slower than the McLaren Senna. So comparing the C8 lap time at VIR full course driven by Pobst to the Viper may not be so accurate.

I wished they could have used the same configuration by Car and Driver Lighting Laps so we have a larger sampling data to compare.

Laguna Seca lap times driven by Pobst:

Viper ACR MKV - 1:28:65
911 GT2 RS - 1:28:30
McLaren Senna - 1:27:62

I don't think that's even right, the original porsche "widowmaker", apart from everything that was already tail-happy, was the 930, the dynamics of which included massive turbo lag and the ability to kill people around turns. The GT2 was a far more refined version many models later and wasn't the "widowmaker", although far from benign.

A couple media outlets are now reporting the C8 did 7:28 at Nurburgring.

If true, only 1 sec off C7 Grand Sport equipped with stage 3 Z07 aero, carbon ceramics, and cup2 tires. Z51 C7 had time of 7:33.

It would make sense though, better balance and more HP. Can't wait for the track focused versions!

It's not even in production yet; how is it the NA car of the year?

Here's a 35 second drive by video of the C8 Z06 flat crank. Sounds angry.

That straight up sounds like a Ferrari flat plane crank. Not the Voodoo in the GT350.

The Voodoo is handicapped by a single airbox for reasons I don't understand. The Fezza and presumably the Vette will have dual airboxes.

And thats barely under throttle, just a little tease, they’re going to make us wait to hear it really spun up.
We can get a much better listen to the new Chevrolet flat crank V8 opened up this weekend at Daytona in the new C8R. Obviously it’s not the same as the street engine but not that far off.

Honestly the wheels on the new C8 isn't what I'd call "attractive."

I guess now they're using the more common 5x120 instead of the Corvette only 5x 4.75" bolt pattern, these will be easy target for a lot of wheel thieves.

I mean, they're both mid engines cars. One looks slightly melted and feminine though. Admittingly I find the 430 to be the low point of mid engine Ferrari's outside of the Mondial.

I certainly see some of it in the front end. The rest is pretty different, at least for two comparably situated cars.
