I have heard mixed feedback on the OEM clutch but I have never had an issue or complaint and since these cars are so light on torque, I felt it did not need an upgraded clutch. I decided to just lighten things up with the JB Racing lightweight flywheel. I believe it is 12 pounds and think the OEM one is close to 30 pounds.

Love it, please keep the pictures coming! Curious, are you going to paint the cage and interior when it's all done?

I am planning to tie in the front strut towers to the cage. I have not seen another build that has done this and kept OEM abs intact. Erik from Late Apex sent me this pic with the tape to show me his plan. Would like to hear feedback if anyone has done this and see if there are any other suggestions to consider.

You really are going all out! One quick thing. Where are your harnesses attaching to? Didn't see a cross bar?

The builder (Late Apex) is going to check clearances and if needed make it a bolt on bar. I decided to tie in the front as much as possible because I was planning on the strut tower reinforcements so figured if they are going to be welding up front, might as well get it as firm as possible. I believe many of the World Challenge did some type of front reinforcement but I believe they did it down lower along the frame rails.

just eyeballing my strut mounts with the oem brace mount, it looks like there is something sticking up and it is not a flat surface? what is it? do you have any pictures of it before you reinforced it? did you just grind it off?

Are you referring to the ring in the center where the strut pops through? Not sure I follow which part you are referring to. I don't have a before and after shot.

Progress has been slower than I was hoping for but it is getting close. Hoping that all fab work will be done in the next couple days and then off to paint.

Great progress! I just started tube notching yesterday. What a fun exercise in frustration and steel dust!
What is the expected final weight?
