My DD is a 2013 Tundra Platinum Edition, which I plan on using to tow my E92 to the track!

My wife really likes her Mazda CX-9. It's a Grand Touring AWD. It's our trip car and we've put 120k miles on it in 5 years. And I don't hate driving it. It's a billy goat in the mountains, with plenty of power and an easy to downshift auto. Drove it all the way to Montana a couple years ago. Worth a look and a test drive - good value for the money.

I live in a dense part of the city and take public transportation most places, so the M3 is my all-the-time driver. And aside from fuel efficiency, it's as amazing at getting groceries as it is pounding a back road.
In the future, I'd probably want something efficient like a GTI or 335i as a daily with a Cayman or true sports car as my toy. |

I alternate between a 2012 Golf Tdi and my 97 e-420. Golf gets 45+ mpgs and the merc gets around 26 highway which is better than the M3. We dont have extremely bad winters in texas but we do have lots of idiots driving in rush hour so i prefer to commute in another car.

Finally, while on road handling is of course not in the same league as an X5, I find driving the LC a lot of fun as it has that truck feel (body on frame, solid rear axle, 2.8-tons, 550 ramp score) and unique character which compliments something as sharp and polished as the M3 perfectly. |

Sadly, my Chevy Tahoe is my DD. I just can't justify leaving my baby in the company parking lot for 9 hours sitting collecting dirt, bird crap and the dings from jealous co-workers.

I owned a 00 740i Sport and as you have stated it was very enjoyable. Big car that drove like a 3 series. Not as potent as my M3, but still had the emotional element. GOD I wish I still on her. |
