DINAN Parts - Texas Dealerships

So,

I was thinking about getting the Dinan Pulley, Exhaust and Intake system for my car.

I know they arent the most "aggresive" mods i can get and tend to cost more than other tuners but i like the warranty and the fact that dealerships dont freak out on Dinan parts mods.

When i called my usual dealership Momentum SW and chatted with the parts guy (He told me they didnt have a Dinan rep which was wierd because i thought they did) and mentioned what parts i wanted and any possible discounts 10-20% is what i have been seeing on these boards he told me "The price on Dinan.com is the price we HAVE to charge PLUS freight...

Anybody know of any dealerships that ARE offering discounts/willing to negotiate?

Thanks!

I'm interested too, since I keep missing out on any of the used exhausts that people are selling.

If you want Dinan parts and good deals on them, you should give BMW At Houston North a call, they stock Dinan parts and they do installs for you too. I got my Dinan parts, including ecu tune done on my 335i at the dealership, also, I got the Dinan exhaust on my M3 for well less than the listed msrp, and their customer service is bar none, makes going to momentum sw like going to a mazda dealer...hit up scott@bmwhn on this forum, he's a friend of mine who works there as a parts specialist, and I'm sure he'll take real good care of you. Good luck, cheers

Thanks Blake!

BTW Dinan is offering 20% off on most things on their website right now but it also looks like they bumped their prices AGAIN so it looks more like a 10%-15% discount still better than a price bump and no discount!

I ordered my car from BMW of Austin and had them install a host of Dinan parts before I even took delivery! I highly recommend BMW of Austin!

Gonna be calling Dinan Dealers next week as I will be looking to pull the trigger then on the following Dinan Mods:

For sure: Intake, Pulley, ECU

Possible: Exhaust (Just several other exhausts out there that i really prefer the sound of)

Anyone else interested in any of these let me know and maybe we can work a better deal with several cars!

It hasn't so far for me.

Wife and I are working on getting a house built up in Cypress (Bridgeland) so made a promise and cant do any mods until we sign as we are trying to avoid pmi.

Hardest promise to keep EVER...

I did talk to Scott and BMW North and he seemed liked a straight up guy, got some decent prices for the Dinan parts from him but the labor there was killer!
Just an example the Dinan pulley was going to run me $432 thats with 20% off and sales tax so about $70 off retail but labor was $302 + $50 "shop supplies" so $350 to install a $400 part!

I called Moterwerks and they gave me a estimated cost of about $150 to install it (They did qualify thier quote by saying they hadnt installed a dinan pulley but they didnt think it would be much different than the AA & Rogue pulleys they have installed on e9x Ms) and Dinan honors its warranties at most reputable shops.

Anyhow whens the next ///M get together? I want to live vicariously though other peeps mods!

I dont suppose BMW North mentioned anything about not servicing a vehicle with Dinan mods not installed by them? Are all the local dealers ok with Dinan modifications? How bout other aftermarket brands?

I believe that as long as the BMW dealer is an authorized Dinan dealer as well, there should be no problems getting your car serviced.

As for other aftermarket brands, it really depends on the dealer policy and your SA. Some don't give a damn where as others may be anal.

Anyhow avoid Momentum dealers at all costs. Worst service quality ever... I will spare everyone from my horror stories for now.

Thanks for the tips.

Anyone have suggestions for dealers/SAs who might turn a blind eye to aftermarket, potentially non-Dinan parts?

We service Dinan cars even if the parts were not installed here or at a Dinan dealer. However, if a problem is a result of improper installation then we are not responsible, and whoever installed them will be responsible for the costs of the repairs made. Motorwerks is more than capable for Dinan installs

I understand our labor rate is high (any dealer labor rate is for that matter). dealerships have alot more over-head to cover before they can be profitable. Loaner cars is a big part of our expense.

Aye, but getting an exhaust from point A to point B with nothing but an M3 is tough!

Thanks for the response Scott.

This is a complicated subject since so many factors can play a role.

But inevitably, regardless of how "blind" any dealer, SA, or technician is to aftermarket parts they dont call the shots on approving warranty work...BMW does.
