So Nissan can't even develop it's own engine or suspension, but the car will still be called "Nissan" ? I think this is probably one of those reasons most people will go for the M3, even if the "Nissan" did 0-62 in 0.2 seconds.

Regards,

Jussi

I never knew that thee engine was going to be developed by Cosworth and the suspension by Lotus. Too lazy to search, do you got a link?

Here's a link to a Car and Driver article from a while back (as an example). All of the magazines that have covered the car have also made the same statement.

Jussi - This thread is to discuss cars other than the M3 that will compete with it. Nobody is telling you to buy a GTR, we are just discussing its merits. We are all here for a reason and many have clearly chosen the M3 over the car in question. No need to dump on the GTR, but I am not buying one either .

It seems unlikely that Nissian would develop a new platform for just a low volume car. Call me skeptical just like I am of some of the threads here.

On a related note, anyone seen that new Supra

It's based on the FM platform, same as all their RWD cars and even the FX. It's been modified and strengthened each new and different model.

Thanks for the link Brian.
I have a Sport Compact Car magazine from a few months ago (Summer) That had the GT-R on the front cover...and I remember that they had the 997 Turbo, the Z06 as some of the cars targets. And that on the 'Ring, they have had the 997 Turbo in the same garage, as well as right next to each other duing testing.

It will be funny to see people selecting the Skyline over other cars in its class. Seeing as that it wil be roughly the same price give or take $5K and deliver the same performance as the others.

But hey, I guess the Fast & Furious drivers culminate from EVO's and STI's and move on to Skylines.
