Price Check Question

Guys,
I want to get an E90 M3 (Family reasons for a sedan) and I found one the is local to me. It's private party and the ad says all maintenance work has been done at the dealer. Also has been garage kept and driven on weekends only. Pictures do show a very clean car with little wear in the interior. Has recent tires and brakes done as well. My question before I start to research and do carfax/autocheck is KBB private party price a good offer to make? He is asking about $4K over that.

Not really because the E90 market always commands a premium over KBB. If it's a ZCP it can be on the highest end.
Without any specific detail though it's hard to tell.

I don't know much either. It's a 2011, not sure if .5 or .75, and I don't know if ZCP. It has rims that are ZCP style but they are not silver, almost looks like a gun metal/black chrome. Says premium sound, nav and looks like sun roof. 6-speed manual.

"Well maintened always garage kept , weekend driver !!!Always serviced at the dealer, never installed any aftermarket parts , entire car is all 100% stock other then tints !!!6year/100 miles warranty just expired so up until last month car was always well taken care of New michelin tires and brakes !

If you try to buy a E9X M3 with the KBB price you will probably go home empty handed. They are way low. I would try to meet him in the middle.

Thanks for the insight. I noticed a few really clean examples are over KBB price but others are closer. I will use this knowledge and see what what happens. First I’m going to have to run VIN for Carfax and autocheck. I would assume no accidents, but you never know since there is no mention.

KBB has my car at 32k, I wouldn't sell it for less than $38. Sedans will pull premiums, being a manual will command even more. If he didn't list zcp he probably doesn't have it but don't be deterred from it for the lack of it.

KBB is bullshit. My 335's kbb was like 8k.. I sold it for 13.5..
