Borla ATAK Custom tips

Has anyone done custom tips on the borla atak or any other aftermarket exhaust for that matter? Post some pics!

I just installed a borla atak, pushed it back as far as possible and still feel they look odd on the car. Its probably because the angle cut. The tips looks sweet from behind but don't like the side profile :/

I did see someone posting the tips they replaced on the atak, I'll try to find the link.

How do you like the exhaust? im debating going to the atak instead of my current 2 pipe oem mod.

It sounds great! I've never heard an OEM mod, and sometimes wish I went that route just because I love how the oem exhaust looks.

But this has a great tone, perfect amount of cabin intrusion while driving. Only complaint is 75 mph in 6mt, the tone is a little annoying when I take the car on my 40 mile work commute. But 65-70 or 77-80 it goes away so you can drive around it.

great to know! I have a very similar commute, so good to know the drone isn't that bad and can be avoided. the OEM mod sounds great and definitely doesn't have any drone, but it just needs a little more volume for me, plus the weight is better with an after market.

Currently have the 2 pipe oem mod with EAS 80mm tips and it looks great, just wish it had more grunt. I would still have on the Atak if it didn't set my neighbor's car alarm off.

Damn it's THAT loud? even with stock x pipe? I still might want it despite the alarm thing... my garage isn't that close to my neighbors and they are already hard of hearing (I hope).

I actually feel like the oem mod is louder. The atak is just more bassy on cold start, which I think set off the alarms.

in for the tips solution. I'm in the same boat, love my ATAK but would prefer different tips.

Must be. Went OEM 2 pipe -> Atak, latter def louder. Like bloke above says, lovely note but to much in the long run. Went back OEM.

Pa. Yes, Atak set surrounding alarms off during cold start. Kind of fun initially.

I DEFINITELY will be getting Atak on the next car. Can't beat the sound at the price. It's an absolute screamer on the top end and plenty of muscle at idle. My only gripe is the tips don't look right. These cars beg for single wall, not double. No drone that I noticed and only loud when you want it to be (except for cold start...that's no joke).

Sincerely,
Previous S65 Atak Owner

PS: DreamTime , are you still digging yours? Any plans to change the tips?

End tips I thought was ok. However on the E90 (and yes I did order E90 system, double checked) they came out a tad too far. Tryed their S system as well which had perfect fit. Not sure what happened there but it was a contributing factor when I swapped away.

Mine was also an E90 version.

I am still soooooo in love with the sound of my ATAK. Without a doubt I fell in love with this exhaust note that night I heard it on your E90. Now, every day I giggle like a school girl while driving around listening to the sound of my car lol. What's hilarious is how many people come up to me when I'm doing stuff in my garage, just to tell me how dope my car sounds. And, I LOVE the cold start. There is no better way to start my day

And, changing out the tips for sure. I have that project scheduled for May on my huge car project list. Already have a custom exhaust guy here in town, and I have an idea of what color/style tips I want to get. I just need to look through his catalog to see if he has what I'm looking for.

I mean, the ATAK is not that loud. I'm a bit taken back by the reviews some people have given it. It is by no means close to setting off car alarms in my experience. Maybe in a parking garage? But my brother has a 911 with Fabspeed Bypass, MUCH louder, and its never set an alarm off even

Yeah pretty nuts. Bugged me to no extent.

Another angle after a long day in the Smoky Mountains.
