Hmm... 55k-60k for 700~whp seems cray cray to me. Sweet spot with this car is 625 and done IMO, and even that is a very high cost to performance ratio

The engine will be designed for it, not just a slapped on blower...

The engine is way below that price range.
And the expected power is above 700WHP

The Blower is 10-15k
Drive train work probably another 7k~

+ Labor

call it a hair under 50k... 700whp for 50k is pretty shit, in today's standards.

( But the car is F'N great under boost, I get it, I am boosted. )

Total cost yes.
Include BBK (brake upgade), differential upgrade, exhaust, headers and some other stuff I included in the build
it'll be a awesome complete package build.
For 50-60K and the power levels with a solid motor with trouble free rod bearing issues.. it was cheaper then buying a new F8X M car and starting over.

Hmm.. sorry I have to disagree
This was an engine that failed, hole in #7 piston initially
S63TU and S55 platform; both if had an internal failure you are at around the same end cost with complete engine rebuilds with upgraded internals and supportive mods to make those type of power levels
There are very few S63TU making true 800-900WHP and very few S55 making over 750WHP (this is debatable based on brand of dyno and fuel bring used)
All depends on what you enjoy more vehicle wise.
Some people I meet enjoy the E9X a lot more then their F8X M car and vice versa..
Its all for the love of motorsports and our cars

Did you get a Carbahn engine as well ?
This car is registered outside CA, so I took advantage of not having to worry about CA emission regulations

Thank you.
Running very well. Pulls really strong. I wanted a solid build with extra torque to offset the convertible's extra weight and the set up delivers.

Are the main bearings changed? That's what I'd be worried about with a blower.
Also, as much as I respect Dinan products, they're dyno numbers were/are VERY optimistic on owners cars here.
I'm hoping CarBahn will be more accurate with their dyno numbers on owners cars.

Dinan was always rated at the crank, never at the wheels.
I never saw an issue with their power other then when someone compared Dinan vs. another brand power numbers.

There was a big thread here a while back with Dinan strokers not making nearly the power advertised at the wheels vs. the crank numbers provided. It was barely more than full bolt on numbers. Maybe there was an update on that I missed?

Buy a decent M3 drive it and enjoy it for what it is then invest the other $50k in a non-depreciating asset and soon you can have enough for that 911 you always wanted.

This engine failed.
#7 piston has a hole in it.
Some cars have that sentimental value that replacing it with another car cant fill. Porsche's are nice but they depreciate with miles like any car.
This M3 is meant to be driven not parked as a garage queen lol

Adding numbers here is not the point. I could buy a corvette C6 Z06 and get to 600whp for less.

I know I'm going to catch heat for this. But if you've owned/own a V8 S65 M3, then you know it's the best engine ever put into an M3. Period. The S55 is good and has strong aftermarket support but an S65 when supercharged or stroked is an absolute beast with way more character. Let's not even get into exhaust sound. That's a no contest.

Agree to disagree. I've seen some 997TT sell well in excess of $50K with over 100K on the clock.
