Chevy specs it for track usage in the Corvette & Camaro (and possibly Cadillac V cars).

Run whatever oil you feel comfortable as soon as you change them more often but I wouldn't run 0W 40 on summer times and redline it daily, drive it hard or track it. These cars are built to run 10W 60. Ones again its your car and use whatever oil you want.

There’s been multiple posts where lead levels in oil analysis have decreased after using thinner oils.

I also change out the oil after 7,500 miles and have had very good Blackstone reports saying I could have gone longer. I track maybe 4 times a year. .

I have run it and 5W40 but don’t think it’s any better or worse then M1 0W40. I might try Pennzoil next in the 0 to 5W40 range. Been running oil in this range since I changed rod bearings in 2014 with WPC treated stock.

Do you think it's good for 6,000-7,000 miles? I have BE bearings installed now, so mix 5 quarts of 15W50 with 3.5 quarts 0W40 I still have sitting around from before. Would you still run the Castrol 0W40 with BE bearings? I'm a little worried about the mains, but no blower so should be ok. .

I'm still using M1 0W40 in my M3, now the FS version.
Car drives the same, warms up fast, revs faster than my eyes can keep up. M1 0W40 FS is still factory fill for cars like Porsche GT3s/GT2 RS and GTRs...so I doubt the "FS" version is worse than the old, if anything, the new GTL formulation is suppose to be better. |

I ran LL01 5w-40 and 0w-40 before RB job and mine were worn down to copper bearings. Also burned a lot of oil. (RB job done at 101,000km)
After BE bearings&ARP bolts I've been running Castrol Supercar 10w-60&0w40(8:1) or Redline(7:2) mix. Redline mix burns the least (less than 0.5L burnt in 3000km including 3 track days). I have since switched to Castrol Supercar as I attend less track events on my car so focusing more on OCI.

Motul 8100 0w-40 on S63B44
Liquimoly GT1 on S62B50 Liquimoly GT1 on S54B32 Redline 5w50 on S85 (and S65) I changed RB's in S65 and S85 and i honestly dont believe any mitigating factors outside of short intervals help. Oil is cheap in the big picture. Most of our cars sit.

Anyone else mix in some Mobil 1 15W50 with the 0W40?
I'm going to run M1 5W50 in the future.

I have mostly run M1 0W40 since 2014, with the exceptions being one change of T6 5W40, one of Castrol 0W40, one of Castrol 5W40, and currently one of M1 5W50. But I just bought some M1 0W40 and 15W50 on sale and will mix. Have not decided on the mix yet — somewhere between 2 and 4L of 15W50.

Ever since the Mobil1 shift to Group 3 oils I just don't trust it In the BMWs I own.
Only use Redline now- 0w40, 5w40 and 5w50 - 10w60 blend. A recent valve cover job confirms my trust in the cleanliness of RLO. Your mileage may vary. I get it that M1 is more affordable, but that is where I choose PP for our Honda Pilot - 0w20 while it's under warranty.

GT3 needs M1 5W-50 for track use. I'd use that one in our car.
