Roll fenders for wider tires
Currently having my engine stroked and bored by carbahn for my supercharger.
With the extra power I'm trying to make sure I get traction. My car is lowered on swift spec-r springs currently running 285/30R19 in the rear. Would like to go wider but it's already pretty tight back there. How wide do you think is possible with rolled fenders? Any tires you guys recommend for 700+ hp? |

R compound 285/30/19 like NT05R, R888, RA1, if they exist in that size. Probably also want stiffer springs and harder subframe and diff bushings. NT555R drag radials are also worth considering for street use, but the sidewalls will be squished than with the track oriented treaded R compounds listed at the beginning.

This all depends on the right wheel spec and alignment settings. Nobody can tell you whether anything wider can fit without knowing your current specs. That being said an e92 can fit 295's easily with stock fenders. 305's and 315's are more alignment and wheel spec dependent.
The E92 fenders are not easy to modify without messing them up.

Is this a sedan or coupe? I thought I remember hearing that the sedans actually have more room in the rear wheel wells.

If you're dropping the coin for a stroked supercharged engine, then you need to follow suit and upgrade your suspension and wheels/tires too. Nice coilovers help keep the tire pressed to the ground, especially if your stock struts are on their way out. Get some 19 x 11 et34 wheels and run 305/30/19 tires. Max summer or streetable competition category tires. |

If you are down to a millimeter, you will probably be rubbing if you load the car with 4 people, track it, or maybe even launch it because of the squat. My E90M3 is lowered on H&R Sports that might be roughly comparable to the OP’s Swift springs, and I have rubbed on 295/30/18 with the car heavily loaded. My alignment is stock in the rear.

ARC8 18x10.5 ET27 rears and tires are Conti EC Sport 295/30/18. Rubbing has not happened except on dips or bumps when fully loaded. But I just drive on the street. On the track, there would be more movement. I could probably trim the arches or add negative camber since my issue is obviously very limited, but I am actually considering going back to 285/35 next change. I had that size before and never experienced a rub. I do like the gear reduction from the 295/30/18 — pretty much a poor man’s 4.10 upgrade from the 3.85.
