Brembo Grand Am Race front BBK

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Up for sale is the front brake kit from a Grand Am GS E92 M3 race car. This car was built and campaigned by Kinetic Motorsports. These aren't just your average pretty BBK that is mostly show over go. These calipers are HUGE. They feature true floating rotors with replaceable rings and because they're built for endurance racing, they use 25mm thick pads! Fit under 18" wheels.

Included are calipers, brackets, stainless lines, complete rotors (rings are just about at end of life), an additional set of rotor hats, a brand new set of 25mm Cobalt Friction XR1 pads, a used set of partial pads, and all hardware. $1850 plus shipping from Richmond, VA. I can also provide additional sets of brand new pads for a discounted price.

Interesting that the real race brembos run smaller disc than OE. 355mm vs 360 stock. Must be alot thicker rotor.

It was a rules thing more than anything IIRC, rules required 18's and 4-pots, 4-pots that fit a 3-6 hour GA race take up a lot of space, plus 355mm rotors are common (I think at least one team ran the Stoptech Trophy kit as well)

Neat brake setup in any event.

Absolutely, you'd just need less aggressive pads

Do they work with the stock master cylinder? What about pad knock back? Are they noise on the street?

Yes, stock master cylinder. Noise is affected by the pad type, not the caliper. If you run an aggressive race pad, they will squeak.
