Farewell
I said goodbye to my M3. E92 2012 competition package, executive package and M package - all the options ticked off, 6MT.
This past year I drove it 3000km - it was time to let someone else enjoy the experience. Most of my driving had been during the 3 years I had it in Europe. Perhaps I was spoiled by that experience. In many ways the car was designed for that - autobahn runs early on Sunday mornings, alpine pass drives and drives through a tunnel in Monte Carlo. This board has been very helpful to me. Not that I had many issues with my car - no bearing problems not fuel supply issues. Just oil changes and tires and other regular maintenance. I was really helped by the coding forum - BMW refused to help when I needed to have the radio adjusted to receive all FM frequencies (in Canada and the US we only get 50% of them). Through coding I was able to get that resolved and drive through tunnels tuned to the emergency frequency. I have not left the BMW Family, I still have my venerable 2004 Z4 for country roads and drives with my local BMWCC chapter. My new daily driver is an X3 M40i. It will get me to and from the local hardwood supplier and allow me to deliver smaller projects to customers. I could have chosen a Ford Transit - but we M guys are not that practical are we? Who knows, when the X3M arrives I may take the plunge. However for now, my days of enjoying the harmony of a 414hp 32 valve normally aspirated V8 are done. |

Driving one of these through Europe is the penultimate ownership experience. You probably enjoyed that car more in those few years than many of us put together.
Congrats on the new hauler, maybe you'll be back someday. The M3 scratches an itch that is sure to return

Did you end up selling it or did you trade it in?

Congrats, that was one of the cleanest E92 M3's listed on the trader! I'm glad you got the amount of money you wanted for it.
A car like that was worth every dollar!!! On to the next chapter!
