Let's talk about car covers for a minute..

I am looking for an indoor car cover for the E90 M3. I wanted one that is custom fitted, preferably black in color (but I will entertain grey as well) and that has a custom ///M logo on the front, similar to the one below (obviously minus the "Coupe"

Again, this will be used indoors, inside the garage, and is simply to keep dirt and dust off the car when it isn't being used, not to protect it from the elements. Does anyone know a company that sells a custom fit car cover with ///M logos in black for the E90? Or do you know of something similar? Since it isn't going to be outside the garage, I will also consider a "presentation" type cover that isn't fitted to the car. The idea here is just to cover the car to protect it from dirt and dust.

I have the BMW grey cover for mine, but the only one that I know of that's black with the M logo is for the 1M.

Coverking Satin Stretch is a beautiful cover for indoor use and form-fits perfectly to the car. Even has a soft fleece lining. I have one for my Viper (it is available in most colors including black). The ///M logo will be tough to get, however, on most brands of cover. You could have one silk-screened after purchase, but more trouble.

That Coverking is expensive..I am sure it is worth every penny, but damn.. Definitely something for me to look into.

I came across this thread..

http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...y-%28Take-2%29

..from a couple years back, and I went to their website (Car Covers By Andrea). I guess it is a company from Italy if anyone has heard of them..? Anyways, I sent a quote request with the link to that thread to the company and asked if I could have one made similar to the 6th picture (without the "Coupe" part. We will see what they say. It will likely be pricey, but might be worth it. Everyone that ordered from that thread and posted up about the product had nothing but good things to say.

The Coverking Satin Stretch for BMW 3-series is $248 on Amazon w/free shipping. No need to pay full retail...

I have the gray NOAH oem car cover. Quality and durability is great.

I wash it every couple of months and use it primarily outdoors. Great warranty as well if you buy it from a dealership.

I use the OEM Noah covers. They aren't as visually appeasing but are very high quality, and insulated well.

It's expensive but well worth it rain proof too.

I've had two of the cover craft NOAH's on different vehicles, they are a solid choice. I think they are outdoor rated but I used them both indoors

Best indoor I've ever used - Covercraft Form-Fit. Has an incredibly soft inner liner, and is cut to fit the M3. I park my M3 in a covered open air garage, and use the Form-Fit and a Bavarian Autosport Ultimate cover over it.

Dumb question - do you only put the cover on when the car is clean?

YES!
two reasons.

Dirt will scratch

Dirt will make the cover dirty and then get dirt on the car when its clean.. Ok im ocd lol

If you're using it for outdoor, you need to take the cover off periodically and wipe it down because dirt/dust will blow up and under the cover.

Makes sense - thanks!

Thanks for all the suggestions in here. I am still up in the air about what cover to get, but I will probably be purchasing one within the next few weeks. If anyone is interested, I got a reply back from that italian company I mentioned in the 4th post up there ^ I won't post up what they said in the email word for word, but here is their link to their website:

http://www.confezioniandrea.it/en/

They basically told me that they can do a black "Class" cover (see their website for details) with a printed "///M" on the hood and a carrying bag included. Retail price is €249,95, they are giving a 10% discount, so €224,95. Shipping to me in Germany is €35,00, and they said shipping to the US is a little more pricey, but I can't see it being more than €60,00. If you want to add colored piping, it is €15,00 extra. Delivery time is within 5 weeks of payment.

So for roughly $315 USD shipped, you could get a cover like the one I described. It's a tad pricey, but I suspect the quality is up there. I will probably go this route. If anyone wants one, let me know and I can give you more information.
