I think he meant "freakish reverse" which would let me think he was trying to move, and the car said eff you.

That freakish reserve is a PITA.

on the bright side, you can now upgrade to a Euro spec bumper. The folks at IND can probably help you out.

Not sure on front but some dingbat pulled his SUV into a tight space at the airport while I was away on business and dinged my corner. To his credit he left insurance details - yes there are still honorable people

Repairs incl. new bumper and paint came in ~ $1k.

Now, by way of comparison I was merging and from underneath the truck in front came some flattish black object. I could not avoid it and ran over the black object (3 weeks ago) and thought it was a tire 'alligator'.

Until 1 mi later when I got 1st flat tire warning - then multi. Cut to chase: 4 news tires (to match up all 4) for the 2 flats; 1 new wheel .. and then they go to align and does not, not out by much but just enough to warrant a new strut. Add in 1 new front right strut ($1300 installed).

Total came to ~$4k. Well, there's my Brembo BBK!

So yes, I know it's upsetting to have any work done on one's Beast.

Sorry I Was on my phone and pissed, so my post wasn't entirely clear. It's DCT. I placed it in reverse, but the gear didnt engage ( I probably didn't move the stick all the way up, and it bounce back). When I stepped on the gas, car went forward. I felt like Asian woman.. What a shame.

10 years of zero accidents, and this happens :/

On another note, the bumper is fine... Just some scratches that may be able to be fixed and repainted.

Does IND body work ? Or just sell new bumpers ?

IND's also know as a&l auto-body. So to answer your question, they do both.

I would think this would be covered under the comprehensive portion of your insurance policy no? I know I hit a tire on the freeway from a semi blowout and caused $2,500 in damage to my car but my insurance covered it.

Everyone here obviously has an affliction for IND but OP is in FL. Bring it to any reputable body shop. They will fix or replace it 100%

Depends. If you hit an object it's collision; if an object hits you Or you hit animal that's comp. it's a little more detailed but that gives u an idea

Just under $1000- add installation and paint. Cross your fingers that the brackets (holding the bumper in place) are not damaged or broken, if so add another $1000- to replace and repair.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I don't think anything needs to be fixed except some deep scratches (would you consider a 2mm deep scratch, deep?), and a minor bent..

No, I don't ... I'm sure a body shop will advice you best.

In my case it was a medium rear ended at a traffic light. At first the damage appeared to be around $1000- on e in the shop it was established the bumper had a crack and on e removed from the car the bracket holding the bumper was cracked and required to be replaced as well. All in all the end oat was just over $3000- with labour, paint and 13% tax.

Your case might be just cosmetic, perhaps wait till the next guy hits you (heaven forbid) from the back. :d
