2nd Blackstone Report

Second report. I think it is a good one. The first oil change went to 15K miles. This one was done at 8K, but you can see they said based on what they are seeing I should be fine at 10K. I wanted to do a couple to establish a baseline. I'm thinking maybe do a report every other oil change. Any suggestions on the frequency of the Blackstone reports?

You guys need to pay for TBN & TAN if you want to figure out what a good change interval will be. I've said it time and time again.

Good to see insolubles drop, but I suspect you could run a longer interval since everything else looked fine at 12.5k, though without TBN+TAN it's hard to say for certain.

I don't pay for TBN since I change it every 7500 miles. I have 5 or 6 data points now and a good trend exists.

Don't really know what a TBN is?? I'm pretty happy with the report though considering the car has over 80K on it...

TBN = total base number (reserve alkalinity, or ability to neutralize acids & how much active additive is left)

TAN = total acid number (acidity of the oil)
